I take QVAR 2 months now. I experience numbness face swelling and throat closing when consuming alcohol. Could this be an allergy to the medicine?
No: Although QVar can cause oropharyngeal candidiasis (yeast infection), it would not cause these symptoms which are solely triggered by alcohol. If you have these symptoms no matter what kind of alcohol you consume, then avoid alcohol altogether. If you have these symptoms only with wine and beer, then consider sulfite sensitivity. No: Sleep or lack thereof and alcohol have nothing to do with lymph nodes there. However, I see you are on antibiotics after a tooth extraction which must have also been infected. This infection is certainly the cause of the swollen nodes. If these nodes do not improve as the dental infection does then you need to followup for evaluation. ...Read more
Hi I have been experiencing right claf swelling mainly after I have alcohol- the calf muscle gets really tight and swells about 1/2"?
Be checked: There are many possible causes, but I would definitely be checked immediately. This is because one of the potential causes is a blood clot in your leg which can potentially go to the lung and be life threatening. Many people will walk around with a blood clot and not even know they have it. ...Read more

I have started getting facial swelling (adema) that lasts for days after running, drinking alcohol or coffee. What is causing this, my adrenals?
Worthy to check it: Swelling due to fluid accumulation in a tissue, or edema, could be caused by problems with the adrenal glands. These conditions are relatively rare, however, compared to other causes related to the kidney, liver, lymphatics or blood vessels. I would suggest seeing your physician for an examination and blood work for starters. Further investigation with radiologic studies may also be warranted. ...Read more

Boyfriend has a very large blister on big toe and it popped on it's own. The fluid that came out was brown. The swelling in his foot has gone down. And he can move his toes. I drained it and clean around with an alcohol swab then antibacterial soap.
So far, So Good.: It sounds like you've done all the right things. The brown could be the residue of old blood. You need to check for the signs of increasing cellulitis and infection. Things like swelling, redness, heat and pain. If the wound does not improve with your treatment than a trip to your doctor may be in order. If the sight clears, the congratulations are in order, I think. ...Read more

Are you a smoker?: Smoking and drinking makes your cancer chances higher. You may have a blocked salivary gland, swollen muscle, allergy to alcohol, and possibly cancer. My best to your speedy diagnosis! ...Read more
