Alcohol And Fluconozole And Candida Esophigitis
No: Antibiotics don't cause gastritis although some are harder on stomach than others. Erythromycin & clindamycin are known to be especially harsh on gut, former w/nausea & vomiting while latter w/diarrhea (although all are known to cause C diff diarrhea). There's no specific dose of Nexium (esomeprazole) or any other proton pump inhibitor to treat side effects. ...Read more
I have mouth ulcer and the doctor has recommended B-complex and doxycycline and lactic acid bacillus capsules. Are these medicines okay?
Mouth ulcers: What was the diagnosis?? That's the important question. The cause will determine the treatment. Was the "doctor" a physician or dentist? What you mentioned regarding medicines are fine, but will they cure or prevent the ulcers? That's a question we cannot determine over the internet without examining you and knowing your medical and dental history. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Starting Diflucan 200mg/day for 4 weeks for candida in esophagus. From asthma meds and antibiotics. I take Prozac. Will it cause QT problems? Healthy.
Over medicated?: That is a lot of problems and meds for a 28 year old man. Seems like you have a rough life. Need to solve the environment you are living in. I hope no cats at home as this would make asthma worse. No smoking please. You can always have an ekg done midway or if having new symptoms to check for QT prolongation but this would be rare. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Can i take fluconazole and Advil (ibuprofen) while on amoxicillin, clarothimycin, and omeprazole? I have h pylori, period cramps, and a yeast infection.
Diagnosed with bacterial vaginitis and yeast infection 7daysago. Took Diflucan (fluconazole) and intravaginal AB. White clumps continue and itching back. Monistat3?
Return to doctor: Hmmm... something doesn't compute. Bacterial vaginosis is not effectively treated with intravaginal antibiotics; it requires antibiotic by mouth (usually metronidazole). Fluconazole (Diflucan) usually works well for yeast, but miconazole (Monistat) is very similar and might not help if fluconazole did not. Return to be rechecked by the doctor or clinic where you were diagnosed and treated. ...Read more
Will flagyl, which i use currently to treat c diff, also treat h pylori and help heal my ulcer? would taking aciphex (rabeprazole) also help?
Treatment for: H. pylori is usually 3 drugs (2 antibiotics and PPI) for 2 weeks for highest response rate. Antibiotics are usually amoxicillin and Biaxin (clarithromycin). Alternative antibiotic is Flagyl used alone, but this has lower response rate. Only way to know for sure whether Flagyl alone was enough to successfully eradicate H. pylori is to test before and after your treatment. ...Read more
If I am taking xifaxan (rifaximin) for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, is it okay to drink alcohol with it? Or will it adversely affect the antibiotic
Nope: It is generally very unwise to consume alcohol while on any antibiotic - but since your intestine is trying to recover from infection I wouldn't take the chance of causing any more irritation until fully healed. Stick to water - freshen it up with slices of cucumber as this has antioxidant properties and may help with some of the irritation. http://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-91340/xifaxan-oral/details#interactions ...Read more
