Hi I currently suffering from severe anxiety waiting on an appointment with a therapist. my bloods are serum albumin 53 serum urea 2.4 is thus ok?
Albumins are proteins which dissolve in water and are not covered with chains of sugars. The most common is serum albumin. These molecules transport other molecules which don't dissolve in water very well. But its main function is to regulate the amount of water in the blood. Another type of Albumin is the ...Read more
A friend is 52yr, Asian & 224lbs.His albumin 34,cretanine 1.2,blood urea is 27.He is diabetic since years & is on meds. Are these figures in range.Help
DM: Hi, I don't think the Albumin number is correct, i think it's 3.4 instead of 34, which is slightly low, so an Albumin/creatinine in urine could find out if there is any proteinuria due to hx of Diabetes. The creatinnie could be abnormal depending on his muscle mass, need to know the GFR. But I would say the weight is the most disturbing number especially in patient with DM, needs to lose weight. ...Read more
Urea nitrogen24mg/dl.Cholride110mmol/l..Globulin1.8g/dl(calc)albumin/globulin ratio2.5(calc).Platelet count216thousand/ul. What does this mean?
Normal labs likely: Lab numbers without a patient are just that, lab numbers. They mean nothing to a doctor without knowing more about a patient. This is more true when labs numbers fall slightly out of range. Certain labs such as potassium (k) have a very narrow range. For instance, a slightly elevated k level may be nothing (erroneous) or could mean a medical emergency in a patient with end stage renal disease. ...Read more
My creatine is 1.1 urea is 30. Spot microalbumin is 19. I my albumin creatine ratio is 30.79. My usg report says first grade nephropaty changes...I'?
Ask your physician: If you are a reasonably muscular man, a serum creatinine of 1.1 is normal or even a bit less than expected. The urea is a wee bit high but if you just ate a steak it's normal. Spot Albumin of 19 is perfectly normal if micrograms/ml; i don't know the units for the albumin/creatinine ratio. There's a fad in lab reporting that overidentifies healthy people as early kidney kidney cases. Do ask though. ...Read more
My creatine is 0.7 my urea is 21 albumin in urine nil but my micro albumin is 42 am i fine. I am diabetic my hba1c is 6.3.
Doing well overall: Your blood work appears good and you have trace proteinuria which is common in diabetic kidney disease. Keep your diabetes and blood pressure in good control. You also will need to take lisinopril, losartan or something similar to prevent and delay kidney damage from diabetes. ...Read more
My creatine 1.1 urea 30. Albumin is nil urine. Acr ratio is 30.79. Spot microalbumin is 19.4. Usg first grade nephropaty changes. Is kidney failing?
Creatinine of 1.1: Your renal ultrasound (us) finding of first grade nephrophathy changes is subjective and reflects the interpretation of your us by the radiologist. Go to a nephrologist (n) for a 24 hour urine for creatinine clearance and protein and have blood taken when urine is returned. This will give you an actual reading, which is objective of your kidney function. Your lab data are not that bad. See a n. ...Read more
Dear doctor. My microalbmin is 154..My urea is 30.. My creatine is 0.9..Albumin in urine is nil. I am diabetic..Test was don after a 1 hr morning walk.
A friend is an Asian 54yrs,224 lbs, diabetic under oral meds.Albumin 34,cretanine 1.2 & blood urea 27.Are the figures any indication of kidney disease.
Labs only part of it: Given that your relative is 224 pounds, I'm suspicious that he is overweight. The creatinine value -Cr depends on muscle mass, so it would be helpful to get an estimation of that. There are calculations that can be done using Cr & body weight that will give an estimate of kidney function. I think your relatives numbers are OK but recc lose weight, make sure blood pressure is OK & follow up with MD ...Read more
S Urea is 18 mg/L. No Albumin/RBC in urine. Frequent dark urine. Should I see a nephrologist if Creatinine raises from 1 to 1.27 in just 3 months?
No: With normal BUN, creatinine, and urinalysis, be thankful for good health. Creatinine varies some from day to day. When I was lifting weights every day, my creatinine ran 1.6-1.8 and that reflected my muscle mass -- a GOOD thing. I am MUCH more concerned about your elevated SGPT; you're getting it worked up, right? Forget about the other labs. ...Read more
What is prognosis of pt of liver cirrhosis with insomnia and asciteshaving sgot 68.5, total prStein 4.5, albumin 2.4 bld urea, creatinine normal?
It'll kill him...: ... unless he stops drinking. Period. From the clinical findings, this individual continues to be a "moderate drinker." Without sobriety, his chances of recovery aer zero. How soon? I can't tell you. Can we get through this man's denial? I don't know. Is this you? Do you want to die? Or would you like to feel well once again. Cirrhosis is largely reversibly -- IF you sober up. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
