Need to know.: We need to know how long this cough has been going on for, how bad it is, wheezing? If it is just a simple cough and only for a few days it is usually associated with a virus and should be resolved in a few days. Honey at this age is ok to use to control symptoms. Check heart function: Hint here is symptoms are occurring while in bed. Does it happen after lying down. Get echo, getchecked for underlying heart failure, Any lower extremities swelling? Can you lie flat in the bed with only one pillow or do you face difficulty in bathing. Are you stable on it: 20 years is a long time to use solely Maxair (pirbuterol) for breathing problems. The guidelines indicate, if you use a rescue inhaler more than 2 times a week, you need a maintenance inhaler, one that contains a steroid. It will treat the inflammation and your body will not get used to it. Talk to your doctor about your options. ...Read more

No: A room fan, anywhere in the room, is fine and will not cause a vaginal air embolism. Keeping cool with a fan is a good thing, as it decreases sweatiness and body odors.
