Need a post op visit: Ask your doctor to check this during your post surgical check up. You can review your history of taking antibiotics prior to the surgery and weather you had a culture done before surgery or during surgery. It may take a while to resolve since you have had the enlarged lymph node a long time. Aso tell the doctor if it is still tender or if that has resolved. ...Read more

May not be related: Thyroid surgery has a risk of recurrent laryngeal nerve stretch or injury leading to a hoarse voice. It is recovered and now you have shortness of breath. These may not be related. See your doctor but the supplements for thyroid should not lead to sob. ...Read more

Castleman's disease: Is what is known as a lymphoproliferative disease and not a cancer per se but can act like a lymphoma one of the symptoms of which is night sweats. It can later be associated with lymphoma and most often treated with chemotherapy. It is not a common disease. But I am sure your doctor will be going over all of this and more with you. While : While it is possible that the hyperthyroidism is unrelated to your recent surgery and just happened to start now, it is more likely that you are suffering from a traumatic thyroiditis, inflamation of the thyroid caused by trauma during the surgery. If that is the case the Methimazole won't do any good, as the gland is not overactive, it is just leaking hormone that is normally stored there. In that case the problem should resolve on its own over a few weeks. If the symptoms are a problem, perhaps an increase in the beta blocker dose will help. ...Read more
