I do not think it even takes that long in healthy young individuals, but in older populations it can hang around longer, depending on the renal clearance (kidney function). Clearly, I would be concerned if you develop diarrhea on this medication. I will ask to check for C difficile infection. Although any drug can cause C diff, clindamycin is classically associated with C diff.
