After Surgery Foot Leg Pain Remain
Swelling: You don't mention what surgery , but i will infer hip or knee based on the question including reference to the leg. However , some help with edema is appropriate such as compression dressings or stockings . Seek the advice of your surgeon for more specifics. Good luck ! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have bow legs and heard you can get surgery to fix this. I am 26 and only 5 foot 4 inches and heard that the surgery makes you shorter is this true?
Probably not.: You can be born with bowed legs (genu barnum) or develop them secondary to medial (inner knee) joint arthritis. Generally surgery involves removal of a wedge of bone which would shorten the bone, but the once the correction of the angular deformity is done, it more than compensates for this. Imagine the letter "l" as your leg. If you straighten it out, you'll make it longer. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Hi I have one leg that has pitted for a long while, I went to my doctor and had surgery to remove a vein from my groin to my foot this hasn't helped ?
Like a traffic jam.: It sounds like you are describing pitting edema. Removing a major vein from the leg, will force the blood circulating through the leg and returning to the heart to return through fewer veins. This puts a load on the remaining veins which can lead to swelling unless steps are taken to forestall it. Typically gradient compression hose are prescribed. You might want to consult with a specialist. ...Read more

I had meniscus surgery a year ago and my knee still hurts most of the time. Now my whole leg and even my feet hurt. I'm in constant pain.
See Pain Specialist: You may be developing a pain syndrome called complex regional pain syndrome. This should be checked out asap so that treatments can be offered to reduce or eliminate this pain. The longer it goes on makes it harder to treat. Also, the pain could be coming from your spine and may need to be evaluated further. I would see a comprehensive pain specialist that can manage everything you need. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
