Would also consider other vascular, neurologic, bone or joint consideration. If the reason for the arthroscopy was in the arthritis maybe there's arthritis in the ankle midfoot or hind foot. ...Read more

Foot remains numb 2.5 yrs after bunionectomy. Could there be another reason than the surgery? Currently have posterior knee & anterior lower leg pain

Not likely.: If your foot was not numb before having bunion surgery and became numb immediately after the surgery, the chances are, the numbness is a direct result of the surgery. There is the possibility that any one of a number of other conditions could also play a role in either the foot numbness, subsequent leg pain or both. To remove all doubt, an evaluation by an orthopedic surgeon is a place to start. ...Read more

Foot paralysed overnight 9 mths ago after back and bilateral thigh pain.MRI neg.reflexes normal.can't dorsi or plantar flex or move toes.waiting ncs??

CT myelogram?: EMG/NCS is probably one of the top tests to discover what's going on. Sorry it's taking this long to get things squared away. A CT MYELOGRAM can often times show things regarding nerve root compression that an MRI will never show and so that's another imaging modality that could be useful. But you'll also need a SOLID NEUROLOGICAL EXAM as well. More questions? www.healthtap.com/drsaghafi ...Read more
