After Retina Surgery Should I Still Experience Fluid In The Eye
Is the lens felt in the eye after cataract surgery? Surgeon says everything is Ok. I had surgery 10-06. Could I be feeling the new lens and it takes time to get adjusted? No pain.
Is tube shunt eye surgery painful? I have glaucoma and may need tube shunt eye surgery. Will the surgery hurt and will I have to spend a long recovery period in the hospital after the surgery? Are there any painful side effects from the surgery?
Seven weeks post cataract surgery on right eye. After surgery eye drops now have dry eye and need drops. Is this common and goes away with time?
Healing: In prk, the skin covering the cornea is removed and allowed to regrow by itself. As the skin is regrowing, the vision will be blurry. After a few days, the skin is healed and the vision will improve. Vision after prk will continue to improve for several weeks. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Complicated CS: iris: Complications can occur during cataract surgery, though not common. If the iris (part or all) is lost during the procedure, an artificial iris (a segment or full) can be placed at that time or at another time with an intraocular lens. I underwent a catract surgery three days ago ,I have unclear vision(voggy and dark) specially at the center of the eye and my pupil is small and fixed?
Get recheck: While cataract surgery is one of the most successful procedures out there, generally vision is improved although not optimum by 2-3 days out. Generally cataract surgeons check the eye the day or two after surgery - was that your case? A small pupil is generally a good sign. Call your cataract surgery for a quick recheck to see if there is any problem. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I had cataract surgery and now have a hole in the retina of my eye. Are the two related in any way?
Typically not: A hole in the retina comes from traction from the vitreous ("jelly") on the retina in the back portion of the eye. During surgery, or the healing process from cataract surgery this traction may increase. This can result in formation or progression of a hole in the retina. Typically one has a pre-disposing condition, complication, or traction for this to happen associated with cataract surgery. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
My grandmother got phaco surgery for cataract. After the 4 days of surgery also she is experiencing pain, pricking and watering eye. Is it normal?
Pain after CS: There should really be little to no pain after a couple of days after cataract surgery. Call your EyeMD for an evaluation asap. Watering eye after CS is normal, especially if there is a burning sensation (usually from dry eyes) but not pain: could be inflammation that has returned, but they need to be sure there is no infection. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Hello..I recently got eye lasik surgery about 2 weeks ago. While at work an HIV + patients saliva fell in my left eye. Will I be okay or will I be in danger due to recent surgery in my eyes.. ?!
HIV transmission: is very unlikely with saliva. If the eye surgery was a concern to you, your skin covering over the LASIK flaps has already healed. So, I dont see an issue for concern there. Follow the protocol at your place of work for coming in contact with bloodborne pathogens and get tested as deemed appropriate. I don't think there is a case report of HIV transmission through saliva. Good luck. ...Read more
I had a retina tear that has been sealed with laser. But since, i bleed in the eye once about every month. Should i get vitreous removal operation ?
A possible issue: In some patients, the vitreous gel creates a retinal tear next to or right through a retinal blood vessel. Even if the tear is sealed well with laser, the gel still remains attached to the flap of the tear and the blood vessel. In some cases, persistent traction creates periodic hemorrhage. While this often decreases with time, surgery may be warranted if recurrent, severe, ; impacting daily life. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Will there be a sensation (pressure, aches, tingling, etc...) in the eyeball after cataract surgery has healed?
It's been 5 days since i received a laser procedure for a tear in my retina and i can still see the same floater of before. Is this normal?
Yes- expected: The laser acts to cauterize or burn spots of the retina near the tear to "spot weld" the retina down and prevent fluid from entering the hole caused by the tear and cause a retinal detachment. The floater you are seeing is in the vitreous gel and was a sign of the retinal traction that caused the tear- but should not cause a problem after the laser. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Could I have the wrong grad iol after cataract surgery my vision 20/25 in that eye, before that i had a retina detachment 8 mnts ago too?
I had combined glaucoma and cataract in my right eye sequelae to trauma.I had the cataract removed but my pressure is still up.What are my options?
Discuss with MD: Eye pressure can be controlled using eyedrops, oral medications, laser procedures, and surgery to increase outflow of pressure-causing fluid in your eye. Your ophthalmologist can discuss the further options in your case. You can also get the opinion from a glaucoma specialist if one is available in your area. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
My son 1 year old scratched in my eye 6 months before and I am having a scar in cornea epithelium with blured vision and I have pain sometimes early in morning with eye swelling.doctor advised lubricating drops.will this cure?
Rec. Epith. Erosions: Recurrent epithelial erosions occur when the basement membrane of the corneal epithelium heals irregularly following a corneal abrasion. Nightly lubrication with bland or hypertonic saline ointment for 6 months or more is curative, but with even one recurrence the clock goes back to day zero. A cornea specialist can attempt stromal puncturing. Good luck to you and the baby. ...Read more
Vitrectomy: Removal of the vitreous, the material that fills the eye behind the lens and in front of the retina, is done for a number of reasons, including bleeding, infection, to treat or prevent retina detachment and rarely to remove floaters from the eye if they are severely disabling. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
