After my wife got birth control IUD can we have unpertected sex?

After my wife got birth control IUD can we have unpertected sex?

Yes: The iud is effective immediately after insertion and is a highly effective form of contraception. Be sure to follow her doctor's instructions exactly in the first few months of use as this is the most vulnerable period of possible expulsion and therefore effectiveness. Be sure to report any signs of infection to her doctor. The iud can be very safe if certain precautions are followed. ...Read more

If my wife has the birth control IUD can I cum inside her and she wont get pragante.?

If my wife has the birth control IUD can I cum inside her and she wont get pragante.?

True, but . . .: Articles say an iud has a failure rate of 1-3%, so let's presume it's 1%. That means for 100 women who have an iud, each year one of them will get pregnant. That is actually an excellent track record for a birth control device. To help avoid being that 1% who get pregnant, a woman can check to be sure the string is there, change the iud when it's time is up, and perhaps use the hormonal type. ...Read more

My wife had her period 15 days later she has brown spotting she has an IUD birth control is this nirmal?

Maybe normal.: Your wife should do a pregnancy test to exclude pregnancy. Spotting maybe normal with an iud especially with the paragard (copper) iud. It is also common with both forms of iud (copper or progesterone) in the early months after insertion. The spotting may also be ovulatory bleeding (if using paragard iud) due to the hormone change from estrogen to progesterone midcycle. ...Read more

I took my birth control pill for 22 days and on the 22nd day i had my IUD mirena (levonorgestrel) fitted, when can I have sex?

Anytime: The Mirena (levonorgestrel) is effective immediatly. You can have intercourse whenever you are ready. I would, however, suggest finishing the pack of birth control pills. This will help you avoid bleeding in the middle of the month from stopping them at the wrong time. ...Read more

Not likely: Birth control pills can cause pregnancy-like side effects--nausea, breast tenderness, mood changes, especially in the first 3 months. Typically those side effects go away fairly quickly. You should wait and see if your period comes as expected. If not, do a pregnancy test. Keep taking the pills daily without missing any for them to be most effective. ...Read more

Can do preg. test: A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. ...Read more

How do iud's for birth control work?

Depends: The Mirena (levonorgestrel) releases progestins directly into the uterus. That thins the lining of the uterus so that a fertilized egg cannot implant. It also causes thicker cervical mucous that obstructs sperm travel, and decreases tubal motility inhibiting the sperm and egg from meeting. The copper t causes inflammation in the uterus that kills the sperm so that conception can't occur. ...Read more

Is the IUD a long-term method of birth control?

Is the IUD a long-term method of birth control?

No: Iuds are not permanent. They can be removed and then you can get pregnant. The advantages of an iud is that you can place an iud and leave it in for years (5 years and 10 years max for Mirena (levonorgestrel) and paraguard, respectively). No more taking pills regularly or appointments for injections. And they are almost 99% effective. ...Read more

How accurate is a pregnacny test when on birth control (iud)?

How accurate is a pregnacny test when on birth control (iud)?

Same as without IUD: A pregnancy test, when done correctly, at the right time, has about the same accuracy regardless of whether or not a woman is on a birth control method or not (such as an iud or birth control pills). Technically speaking, a positive pregnancy test may be more likely to be a false positive if a woman is on birth control, because the birth control makes it less likely for her to be truly pregnant. ...Read more
