Likely have: Plantar fascitiis....do you wear orthotics? If not consider them. A night brace works well for pain on first few steps in morning....roll a frozen water bottle under your foot, take an antiinflammatory and stretch your gastrocs... ...Read more

I have pain in the arch of my foot, close to my heel. Hurts to walk barefoot and with certain shoes. Hurts most in the morning and after running.

Plantar Fasciitis: 26 year old gentleman with plantar fasciitis. The treatment for plantar fasciitis includes rest, ice, stretching, physical therapy, and then injections or surgery for cases that do not respond to more conservative management. What kind of test are run on your feet if you have heel pain? I have no arches and my heels are extreemely sore i was told my shoes for crews was my problem..

Heel pain: Pain on the bottom may be plantar fasciitis (www.Drmarkgalland.Com 1/16/13), while pain on the back may be achilles tendonitis. From the description of your ft posture it sounds like pf pain is most likely. You can have an x-ray to look for bone spurs, but you may also have to use a trial & error period w/ different shoes or some custom orthotics to find relief. Pain: Without a physical exam , that is extremely difficult to answer. Based on your description i would suspect infracalcaneal bursitis with peroneal tendonitis secondary to plantar fasciitis. That is speculation. Your best solution is to see your podiatrist for an exam , x rays and a diagnosis. ...Read more

Where is the pain: Where exactly is the pain? Is it in the back of the heel? Is it on the bottom of the heel? If at the back of heel you may be dealing with tendinits or bursitis of achilles tendon. May have a heel spur at the back of heel where achilles insertes into heel bone. If at the bottom of heel, that may be plantar fasciitis or heel spur syndrome- inflammation of the plantar fascia at insertion on heel. ...Read more
