After a car accident can your wrist start hrting. It has been abt 8 weeks and my right wrist is still sore and getting worse. No strength in it?
Undiagnosed injury: It is not uncommon to have injuries to the wrist go undiagnosed after a car accident, especially if there were other injuries involved. If there is still significant pain after 8 weeks, you should probably be examined by a specialist to rule out a significant latent injury. ...Read more

I have a scar that just formed on my right wrist as a result of a car accident. Would steroid creams help lighten the scar. I have an Rx for Betamethasone. As Drs say… Could this possibly do any 'harm ' if use liberally and for short period of time?
Probably won't help: Hypertrophic scarring / keloid formation is a frustrating complication in some patients after trauma or surgery. A strong topical steroid like betamethasone may provide a minimal amount of improvement. Basically, you're taking advantage of the side effect of prolonged use which is skin thinning. Use a small amount 2x daily for a month to know if it's working. Injectable steroids might work better. ...Read more
Severe right wrist pain. Hurts to touch on left side of the wrist (pinky finger side). Any movement causes pain. No apparent injury. Started couple days ago, got progressively worse. Feels like pain is starting to radiate to arm.
Wrist pain. Can not bend wrist in any direction. Very little wrist strength. It is extremely tender to the touch.
The main thing is in: -fection, this would be an emergency. If no fever, the wrist is nor red or swollen, then the next 2 things 2 consider are tendinitis or gout, I've see more gout present this way than any other. With gout the wrest is red, painful, but now fever. Often misinterpreted as infection. Labs will show high uric acid. Aspirations will help if fluid can be gotten, & lab will see crystals. Need Dx as Rx diff ...Read more
I am having right wrist pain that is different from the normal pain I have. It's like something feels broken or fractured. I can't hold anything?
Wrist pain down the outside. Doctors don't know what it is. No swelling. Is sore for about 4-6 weeks then fine for another 3-4 weeks then sore again.
Not sure: I assume you mean the little finger side of your wrist. Pain on this side of wrist has many potential causes. Tendinitis is most likely cause, but ligament injuries can cause this as well. Try keeping track of what you are doing the few days before it hurts. Excessive exercise, sports, or typing and writing could all be contributing to your pain. ...Read more
I have wrist pain in my right wrist that comes and goes i'd say every few months, my mom thinks it's carpal tunnel but hasn't taken me to a doctor...
Causes vary: On and off pain can be tendinitis which hurts more with movement and grasping. Osteoarthritis is not a consideration at age 20. Rheumatoid arthritis is usually on both sides of the body) associated with swelling, and more constant. Carpal tunnel syndrome is usually felt as numbness, tingling, and/or pain in the hand. A doctor's history and physical exam and limited testing should sort this out. ...Read more

Maybe: First, you should know that knee and wrist pain would arise from completely different parts of the spine (knee pain would arise from lumbar pathology, and wrist pain would arise from cervical pathology). If your pain is isolated to the joints, and is not radiating in nature, then i think it's unlikely to be spinal in origin, and may be isolated joint problems. See a physician if symptoms persist. ...Read more

Wrist Pain: Trauma of some sort is typically at the top of the list of possibilities. Tendonitis: First off, the swollen vein may not be significant. The painful wrist can develop from a poor position during sleep, it may subside with immobilization of the joint (an ACE bandage) to limit motion, but not so tight that it may cause swelling of the hand. On the other hand it may go away on its own. ...Read more

I am experiencing wrist pain, runny nose, sore throat and nausea (severity: mild) Is this normal when having a cold? Or could it be the flu?

Had sore throat for 12 days, went away but now a cough and today a small sunburn-like rash has appeared on inside of right wrist. Are these connected?
Possibly: The rash could be scarlet fever, a rash associated with untreated strep throat. This untreated infection could lead to the symptoms you describe. Some viral illnesses can do the same. The ONLY way to know is to test with a strep test. If it is positive, then you need antibiotics to prevent further problems like effects on your heart. If negative, then the new symptoms should run their course. ...Read more

With multiple joint problems that have spanned years, you may be developing some kind of arthritic condition. The other thing that comes to mind is lime disease, or some sort of infection from an insect bite.
Your best starting point is your primary care physician, who can order blood tests and get x-rays of these painful joints, and perhaps then refer you to a rheumatologist (in the case of an arthritic condition) or an infectious diseases specialist (in the case of an insect bite that caused an infection). ...Read more
