How many times should I eat/per day while im 150 pounds and 5'10 african american?

Congratulations: On maintaining a good weight for your height. You have a normal bmi and i would not recommend any changes since you seem to have been doing well "weight wise" on your current diet. Just make sure you get at least the minimum recommended amount of protein and calories per day for someone like you. Eat as often as you like, just try to keep it as balanced and healthy as possible. ...Read more

WHAT CAN I DO OR PURCHASE TO GAIN WEIGHT?? I AM A 46 YR OLD AFRICAN AMERICAN 5'3, 108 LBS...I CONSTANTLY EAT ALL THE TIME BUT NEVER SEEM TO GAIN WEIGHT..PLEASE HELP

Increase food&exerci: you are underweight or with bmi less than 18, the first question will be if you eat enough food more than you body uses. Assuming you do but still can not gain weight, consideration should be giving to hypercatabolic states like hyperthyroidism and chronic infections. Also malabsorption syndromes should be consider.Anecdotal evidence from my practice show a subset of people lose weight w stress. ...Read more

Which is the normal range of gamma GT for an african american woman? (ui/l).Thanks

Which is the normal range of gamma GT for an african american woman? (ui/l).Thanks

Hard to say: Until age 60, GGT tends to increase as the years go by, faster in men than in women. At any age and for any level of drinking, it's about twice as high in african-americans. This makes for unfair situations as GGT is often used as a screen to see if someone is secretly abusing alcohol. If my GGT were above 100 regardless of who i was, i would wonder; however, it's a poor screen for disease. ...Read more

At age 40 you aren't too far off from possible menopause so you have to be careful with not becoming too skinny. Aim for ~140 pounds as a nice compromise. Consider a nutritionist and a gym. ...Read more
