Afi Of 12 Cm Report Says Afi Is Mild What Does It Mean
If u/s report says that there is a "1 CM paraovarian cyst", does this mean it's a simple cyst? Would they have mentioned other concerning features?
Could be: Most small cysts of the ovary and surrounding the ovary are benign. The critical aspect would be to see if the cyst grows over time. If it grew substantially, or if it acquired more solid areas, there may be a need to have it removed. I would discuss the situation with your obgyn. ...Read more
I'm a 5'4", 135 lb female. Had us done. Report says "liver measures 15 cm" + "negative ruq us." does this mean the liver isn't enlarged? Kind of big?
My MRI report says I have 2.2x2.3 CM t1 hyperintense, t2 hypointense cyst in right ovary, among other things, what does this mean?
Hemorrhagic cyst: This sounds like a hemorrhagic cyst. It needs to be followed up in 2-3 months (usu. By pelvic ultrasound) to make sure it goes away. These cysts are nothing to worry about. They may cause pain on the side that they are on and should go away without any treatment. It is important however to make sure that's what it is and that a follow-up ultrasound is done to make sure it goes away. ...Read more
Needle biopsy : Nodules of that size can be biopsied using a technique called fine needle aspiration. The skin over the nodule is numbed with a local anesthetic. Then, usually with ultrasound guidance, a needle is passed through the skin into the nodule. A small sample is taken and then analyzed under a microscope. ...Read more
Eeg interpretations: It is really difficult to interpret the squiggles on an eeg. Much more difficult than the squiggles of an ekg. You really have to sit down with your neurologist and have a discussion about your condition which is much more important than the meaning of the wiggles on the paper, and have a discussion about your prognosis (outlook). ...Read more

What does it mean when your x-ray report says " there is mild superior endplate irregularities at C4-C5". Then it also says "the upper right foram?
Need to know symptom: Superior = top part. Endplate = part of bone that forms the "shelf" of the 4th & 5th vertebra in your neck. The irregularities (not a smooth surface) can point to spondylitis or arthritis of the neck. The nerves that come out from that level (C4, C5) go to the forearm & are used for sensation & movement. If you have symptoms in that area, the X-ray can explain it; otherwise, it's meaningless X-ray ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I got the results for a echocardiography report and it says on one of the summaries mild concentric left ventricular hypertrophy what those it means?
Thick walls: It means that the measurement of the wall thickness is increased. If you have had uncontrolled high blood pressure, that may make sense. IF not, it's possible the echo is over-reading it. One millimeter of increased thickness can result in the report saying "mild LVH" .The test isn't super accurate for subtle changes. ...Read more
What does it mean? My report says the report says there is mild cerebellar tonsillar ectopia with tonsils extending 5mm through the foramen magnum
Chiari Malformation: Well at least one of the features is present. Low lying cerebellar tonsils are dipping into the foramen magnum which is the big hole at the base of the skull that allows the spinal cord to pass up to the brain. It means no more trampolines, bungee cord jumping or roller coaster rides for you. You don't want the cerebellar tonsils to be forced down further. Look up arnold chiari malformation, . ...Read more

My mother's report says "Mild provocable ischemia noted in apico-anterolateral and mid-anterolateral segment of left ventricle." What does this mean ?
Provocable ischemia: means induced poor or lack of blood flow to a particular organ. In this case, a particular area of the heart. Usually occurs when the coronary arteries, the arteries that feed the heart, are clogged or compressed. Typically worsens with exertion, when the arteries are clogged. Reduction in cholesterol & BP by eating healthier helps as well as if serious disease, stent placement to keep flow going ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Wat does mild focal caliectasis in left kidney means? My scan report of kub says it.M a bit worid.Nw i hav lower stomach pain for 3 days.Wat shud i do?
Follow up with doc: First, sorry you are in pain. Second, you should go back to the physician that ordered the test or saw you for the pain. Okay... Now, focal caliectasis, is a fancy way of saying that in one spot of the kidney the drainage system looks enlarged compared to the rest. At 19 years old, this is unlikely related to your pain and is something you were born with. Good luck, and follow up with your doctor. ...Read more

How do u classify hepatomegaly based on size-my usg says 20 CM so is this mild, moderate or massive hepatomegaly and what are their respective causes?
U/s for gallbladder polyp and liver cyst came back fine except said spleen mild enlarge 12.2 cm. I am 48 and 5"9. Scared what does this mean?
Nothing serious: Spleen size is somewhat variable in each person. So there is no serious condition which I can think of ,when a spleen is reported as "mildly enlarged" Any radiology report which says slight or mild abnormaility is mostly insignificant because a radilogist is not always sure of what may be normal or close to normal. So they often place a comment like this to cover themselves...purely defensive act! ...Read more
2 reports 1 says 1.2 CM cyst right inferior liver other report says 12 mm in anterior segment of right lobe are these the same cyst/area?
Yes more than likely: 1.2 cm is 12 mm. The right lobe can be broken down into posterior (segments 6 and 7) and anterior (segments 5 and 8) sectors and inferior (segments 5 and 6) and superior (segments 7 and 8) sectors. So by the description of your scans, you have a liver cyst measuring 1.2 cm (about half an inch) in segment 6. Very common finding, usually without symptoms. Get ultrasound once a year. ...Read more
