Taken when symptoms e.g. heartburn/dyspepsia occur, often to distinguish causes but not as long-term remedy - thus when taken depends more on when sxs than necessarily timing of meals. Take either: I can't recall any reason not to use either medicine for your discomfort. They should have no effect at all on the activities of the antibiotic.
