Can i take Advil cold and sinus with Mucinex (guaifenesin) dm I have a cold: sneezing, sore throat, congestion, low fever, cough and just don't feel good.
No: Always follow the directions on the packaging. Many of these products contain antihistamines that can cause dry mouth and dizziness. Excessive amounts of advil can also cause stomach acid upset. If you are having trouble with congestion - snort some nasal saline and hack out the buggers. Consider adding a nasal steroid spray once a day - Nasocort OTC. Cool mist humidifier at night. ...Read more
Can I take Advil cold and sinus (night) and Nasonex (mometasone) for a cold and sinus pains while taking azythromycin for a sinus infection?
They do interact: very slightly. since azithromycin when being eliminated by the liver does prevent these other drugs from being removed as fast. BUT, the small effect on the drug metabolism isn't going to be noticeable let alone being in any way dangerous/risky. Nasonex (mometasone) especially once it gets out of the nose is so low an amount in the body, that it can't ... well.... do anything outside of the nose/throat. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Sinus headache and minor chest cold.. doc said take Tylenol (acetaminophen) but what can I take for the cold? (33 weeks) runny nose and bad cough and congestion
I have a sinus infection. Taking amox. 875mg 2x day. Also take 1 tsp cheritussin for cough. Can i take Advil (ibuprofen) cold and sinus as well for pain/conges?
Absolutely: Advil, in fact, is my best medicine in case of sinus infection. Really not into antibiotics for acute sinusitis unless it's been for at least 2 weeks and not getting better and other things have been exhausted such as neti pot nasal rinses. If you were to continue on abx, though, make sure you take probiotic supplement to prevent diarrhea which is common with amoxicillin. ...Read more

Im on claritin (loratadine) D and flonase, but getting little relief/sleep. Is it okay to also take either theraflu nightime sever cold and cough or nyquil coldflu?
Can i take clariten d and Mucinex (guaifenesin) cold and congestion together for the best results?
Yes: I don't think the Claritin will help much but the "d" will shrink the nasal linings and improve airway. Make sure the Mucinex (guaifenesin) doesn't contain decongestant if you are taking Claritin d. Mucinex (guaifenesin) helps to thin secretions but works better when hydrated. Consider nasal saline rinses a few times daily, humidifier, and 3-4 days of afrin. ...Read more
