Cta is an option: Is an anatomic evaluation and not a functional one. It involves alot radiation and dye. If its markredly abnormal or perfectly clear its a great test. But often its not clear as an intermediate blockage may or may not cause chest pain. The next test they reccomend is then a stress test. Then if symptoms persist a catheterization is rec. Thats alot of dye a radiation. I would just go right to cath. ...Read more

2nd opinion: Neuropsychological reports can be complex, but they usually contain a great deal of detail and test scores that can help with proper diagnosis. I've been taking advicor for five years and now my doctor is switching me to zocor (simvastatin). How long does the niacin stay in your body.. Flushing?
Good question: I researched your question: the half life of extended release Niacin in Advicor (lovastatin and niacin) is very variable, & depends on gender, dose, & individual characteristics. It peaks 5 hours after a single dose. Following years of treatment, it's probably safe to assume that it will take days (3-5) to wear off completely. Possibly longer depending on dose. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Consult your doctor: We are letting you know it's important to share your questions with doctors in real time. How do I know these are real medical doctors on this app? Why would they give free medical advice?
Some do help out..: Checking on someone's credential is not that hard and there are software/ways to know whether or not someone does have a medical license or not. As you probably know, pharmacists, psychologists, phlebotomists, physical therapists etc...Are also on this website. I guess it is hard to be 100% sure, thus when in doubt, check with your own doc. What is PUO?: You say you have PUO. I am not sure what that acronym stands for. You also have had 5 hospitalizations. It is not clear what was done to you. You need to see a good doctor in the flesh, but before you do collect all of the tests that you had done on you, and make an appointment, and read the book by Dr. J. Groopman "How Doctors Think". ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
