My mom was having chest pain on 29.11.2012 left side. . We immediately had ECG then we have taken advice from 2 doctors one doctor told do CT angio a?

But often its not clear as an intermediate blockage may or may not cause chest pain. The next test they reccomend is then a stress test. Then if symptoms persist a catheterization is rec. Thats alot of dye a radiation. I would just go right to cath. ...Read more

I've been taking advicor for five years and now my doctor is switching me to zocor (simvastatin). How long does the niacin stay in your body.. Flushing?

Good question: I researched your question: the half life of extended release Niacin in Advicor (lovastatin and niacin) is very variable, & depends on gender, dose, & individual characteristics. It peaks 5 hours after a single dose. Following years of treatment, it's probably safe to assume that it will take days (3-5) to wear off completely. Possibly longer depending on dose. ...Read more

Docs just people: First, remember doctors are just people too. We put on our underwear one foot at a time, same as you. We also pass gas, sleep and love. 2 years with PUO, 5 hospitalisations, and doctors have now told me there is nothing that can be done. I am 24, temp 103+. Most tests normal. Advice?

What is PUO?: You say you have PUO. I am not sure what that acronym stands for. You also have had 5 hospitalizations. It is not clear what was done to you. You need to see a good doctor in the flesh, but before you do collect all of the tests that you had done on you, and make an appointment, and read the book by Dr. J.
