Advice For Anxiety Depression And Overwhelmed
I've tried several methods to stop cutting&seen therapist, but when I get overwhelmed by my depression/anxiety I always need to self harm. Any advice?
Good Evaluation: It's a very good sign that you are motivated to stop. Have you returned to see the therapist? If you feel that that therapist or method didn't work, then you need an evaluation by an alternative professional. It is not clear what combination of therapy and medication you might need. Great question..: I cannot say it is more common but it is better recognized and spoken about than in previous generations. The real reason is probably there is less cultural stigma and more effective assessments and treatments available. If you haven't had a comprehensive psychiatric/psychological evaluation - that can be an important first step. Once your conditions are well defined- a treatment plan will follow. You must find a way: If you attempted suicide while on medication, the medication may not have been the right one for you. A small % of people become more depressed on some medications. Consult with a psychiatrist and tell them what happened and which medication you were on. Also the combination of psychotherapy and medication has been found to be the most beneficial for depression.
