Various opinions: Some believe nipple confusion is the main problem switching back and forth in feeding method. Babies have to put a little more work into getting the milk to drop down from the breast vs suckling a bottle. Pre-digested formula: There are 2 hypoallergenic formulas, nutramigen and alimentum. They are predigested to avoid food allergies. They are also much more expensive. You can probably try regular priced formulas that are either milk-free or with partially digested milk proteins. By far, most babies do well without needing a hypoallergenic formula. ...Read more

Depends on concerns: Both formulas can be helpful with reflux but only similac total comfort helps with constipation. The s26 gold ar has added cornstarch to decrease reflux but this is still a cow milk formula. If your infant has problems digesting cow milk then the similac total comfort would be a better choice.
