SSRIs: There is some evidence that ssris help with post stroke remodeling where the brain works on regrowing connections between brain areas that were not killed by the stroke. There is also evidence they help prevent post stroke depression that is very common. Not much reason to think one ssri is better than another. See your prescriber for specific dosage recommendations. ...Read more

Needmore information: CHF is treated with medicines very adequatly. What is the Underlying cause? High BP, CAD, Arrythmia,or Valve disease? The EF is measured by Echocardiogram ; which f=gives functional capacity of the Cardiac function. When CPR used on terminally ill pts from perceived obligation "to try," rate more like 4-8%. Odds are not good: 75 year olds with severe CHF usually do not do well on in center dialysis as large amounts of fluid removal every dialysis shift is difficult in setting of low BP caused by heart failure. Peritoneal dialysis or home hemodialysis where patients do daily dialysis at home and nocturnal hemodialysis where patients have a prolonged dialysis treatment for 8 hours would be a better option. ...Read more
