I haven't tooken my advair for 3 months because i'm fine without it. Should I still take it even though i'm fine without it?
Maybe: Check in w/your family doc & ask for pft (pulmonary function test) to determine how well you're breathing. You may have subconsciously decreased your activity level to avoid becoming short of breath w/o your meds. Is taking two puffs of 250mg advair the same as taking one puff off 500mg advair given to me as a sample?
More bronchodilator: There are two components to advair. One is a bronchodilator and the other is an inhaled steroid. Two puffs of the 250 strength of advair is about the equivalent as far as the steroid goes but you will get twice as much of the bronchodilator. Unlikely: Unlikely to cause problems in a one-time occurrence, but it is not recommended to use it this way. Excess of the salmeterol component, (the larger of the 2 numbers) may cause some increased heart rate and raise blood pressure, but you have said that your pressure is ok.
