See your dentist: At 46, you must be erupting your 3rd set of molars or wisdom teeth. Topical anesthetics such as orajel and anti-inflammatory medication such as aleve, (naproxen) may help. But at your age you need to visit your dentist and have an x-ray to determine where these teeth. Most often, they need to be extracted.

Yes: I have seen patients w 12 bicuspids instead of 8. Also extra molars. Sometimes an extra malformed tooth can be present called supernumary teeth. In the upper anterior it's called a mesodens. I have also seen extra lower incisors.

Depends: Adult teeth can continue to move through out your life. They usually stop vertical movement when they hit the opposite tooth of functioning partner. If you loose a tooth then the neighboring teeth will move to occupy the space both horizontally and vertically. Check with your dentist to see what is applicable to your specific situation.
