No: I would not recommend using an potentially addictive drug to ease a side effect of withdrawal from another drug. Not sure if you are working with your doc on tapering schedule or not, if you are may need to slow it down. Discuss with doctor, there may be other options. For some of my patients i've had success putting on Prozac to wean off paxil, (paroxetine) then wean off prozac. It's longer half life helps. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Can you stop takin tpomax 50 mg asol take lorcet (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) 10650 klonopin 1mg been having bad headaches and halluccuination?
Need assessment: The hallucinations are not due to topamax, (topiramate) but could be secondary to the Lorcet or klonopin. But do you need all these potent items. If you do indeed have migraine, Lorcet will unquestionably backfire and make it worse, and the Klonopin can be habituating also. Before doing anything on your own, visit your doctor with a significant other and clarify the doc's goals with all of this. ...Read more

Don't use Carisoprod: Carisoprodol(Soma) is not effective for myoclonus and is a dangerous drug with multiple side effects. Myoclonus can be caused by many conditions. Medications to treat it are:Levetiracetam(Keppra), clonazepam, valproic acid Other treatments are also used. **A side effect of Morphine is myoclonic jerks. No: it contains, obviously, codeine which will show up as an opiate (and is also metabolized into morphine). It also contains a barbiturate, bultalbital, which will also show up as positive. I would worry more about using drugs when you are subject to drug testing, and the level of severity of your drug problem, as you do about getting caught. ...Read more
I have very severe migraines. Will fiorinal with codeine (aspirin butalbital caffeine and codeine) help?
Yes and no: Fiorinal (aspirin butalbital and caffeine) and Codeine are painkillers which can block the pain for a while (and cause drowsiness, other side effects & addiction), but will not get rid of the underlying problem. If you get these severe migraines more than 3 or 4 times a year, or if they last for more than half a day, talk to your doctor about migraine-specific treatments to prevent them or stop them in their tracks. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Added 10 mg nortriptyline (nummular headache) to 50 mg trazodone (insomnia) with 60 mg cymbalta (duloxetine) (migraine). Felt dizzy, drugged & weak so stopped trazodone. Feel better, but can't sleep. What to do?
Insomnia: A poor sleep technic perhaps. Insomnia can occur when the environment where you sleep does not facilitate this important process. Make sure you have no distractions in the room like a tv, laptop. Ipad, smart phones, books, etc. . If still having problems may consider evaluation for restless leg syndrome or depression. Exercise during the day, not at night. Tell your physician about side effects. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
