Adderall Xr Dosage
How do I find a doctor who specializes in gad - general anxiety, not afraid to prescribe Adderall XR at higher dose than normal? My doctor is basically thrown me out the door. My feeling is he is afraid of the d.E.A. - a dr. Leading his field quit to do m
This : This is a great question. Sometimes patients reach a an unorthodox solution to a difficult problem, and as you are experiencing, the dedicated doctor who help you leaves. The first thing you could suggest is for your current psychiatrist to speak with your former psychiatrist. Perhaps they can come to a mutual understanding about continuing the medications that have helped you. If that doesn't work, you should contact either the american psychiatric association or the utah psychiatric society for a list of psychopharmacologists in your area. If there is no one close by, it could be worthwhile for you to travel to a university for a specialized consultation in coordination with a local psychiatrist. The university of arizona and ucla both have great psychiatry departments. In addition, steven stahl, a pre-eminent psychopharmacologist, is based in california and might be a good person to go to for a consultation. Thanks for this important question. Hope this helps. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Oringinally on Adderall 5mg, not strong enough. Switched to Adderall 10mg bid, now to Adderall XR 10mg bid. How will this effect me? What dif will i c
Smoother Effect: Short-acting stimulants have a rapid on/off effect. At their peaks they can be too powerful and are prone to wearing off before you remember to take the next dose. These surges and falls can be both exciting and anxiety producing. Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) xr has sprinkles which act like well-timed doses that pick up where the last left off. They are designed to better fit with your day - once daily (not bid). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
A big difference!: Focalin (dexmethylphenidate) is the active half or methylphenidate (ritalin). Adderall is a mix of amphetamine salts and of amphetamine isomers. Both can be highly beneficial for treating adhd, but they are different chemicals altogether and may work through slightly different mechanisms. If one doesn't work or has too many side effects, the other may prove better--and it doesn't matter which you try first. ...Read more
For over 5 yrs i was prescribed both Adderall XR 30mg and Xanax (alprazolam) 1mg by fam dr. Now seeing diff dr and he said these 2 meds no good together?
True: Everyone is different, but generally these medications work at cross purposes, as Adderal is a stimulant and xanax (alprazolam) is a sedative. The concern is that neither will work as well as it should, and you will have more side effects than with either alone. It is hard to switch tracks after 5 years but I would give your new doctor a chance ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Would Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) and Adderall XR have the same result on a drug test? Is there any way a test could differentiate between the two?
I am taking Adderall XR for a month now from 10 mg and increasing to 30 mg. However I have been having too many side effects, will ritalin (methylphenidate) la help?
Possibly: It depends on what side effects you are noticing. The stimulant medications are very similar and there are some effects you can see in all, such as decreased appetite. There are genetic differences in the way individuals respond to meds, even if similar, and sometimes it takes a few tries to find the one that works the best for you. ...Read more
Will Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) and Adderall XR show the same on a urinalysis? Is there any test that does differentiate between the two?
I'm 120 pounds and take an Adderall XR 30mg in the morning. Is it okay to take a 50mg dramamine (dimenhydrinate) at around 11pm to help me sleep?
Full Day Dosing: You will be better off if your prescriber gives you full-day dosing for your ADHD. Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) XR lasts no longer than 12-hours and if an adult does not have a late afternoon dose of this or similar meds, they often experience a kick-back effect and have a disturbance of sleep. The late afternoon dose of short acting stimulant should drop off just before bedtime and you will sleep like a rock. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
