I have had herpes since 1997, i get it on my face and hands, never anywhere else.I am taking 2400mg of acyclivor every day and am still having outbreaks...Will this damage my liver and can I become immune to this medicine? I am 41 yrs old and female.
Sure it's herpes?: That's very high dose daily suppressive rx if immune competent; and high end of dosing if immune incompetent. Maybe it's not herpes. Seen a dermatologist? Or infectious disease doc? Could be dermatitis herpetiformis (look alike rash, often associated with celiac sprue), or other underlying immunological issue.
