Upper abdominal pain and discomfort w/ some chest area discomfort, burping, jaw/ear pain, nausea, diarrhea, grumbling stomach. What could symptoms be?
My symptoms are fever, severe chills, aches, pains, headache, diherrea, clear water diherrea, constant stomach rumbling, gas?
Bad stomach flu: This sounds like you could have a severe gastroenteritis. Because of the fever AND the diarrhea, you should get it checked. You should be seen by a doctor who can make sure that you don't have a bacterial infection AND can make sure your salt levels and hydration status are OK. Yes: Narcotics very frequently induce constipation with their use. It is important to take a stool softener and MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) (or simmilar) daily as well as staying well hydrated. Sennokot laxative is a good choice if you have not had a bm in several days (avoid the strong stimulant laxatives). Related or not?: There are lots of possibilities here, all of which can be addressed by a physical exam and appropriate testing. Migraines for example can affect both head and gut ("intestinal migraine"). Please however don't contribute to your stomach upset by taking excessive nsaid's aimed at alleviating head ache. Stay hydrated: Lots of possibilities. Most commonly a "stomach bug" or perhaps food poisoning. These should be self-limited & only last a few days without blood in vomit, high fevers or other concerning sx. Most important to ensure hydration-small, frequent sips (no alcohol or caffeinated drinks). May be GI related...: Anatomically, the left upper quadrant (luq) of abdomen includes: spleen, pancreatic tail, stomach, descending duodenum, splenic flexure of the colon, associated vessels. Don't forget the diaphragm, heart, and lower chest are pretty close by. The abdominal musculature, ribs, and skin can all contribute as well to localizing luq pain. Likely depression: One of the most common causes of hypersomnia is depression. However, 20% of people with depression also have sleep apnea and vice versa. I would recommend you see a psychiatrist for eval of your probable depression (90% of our serotonin is in our gut). Serotonin drugs are used to treat depression and often help the gut. When in doubt: just check pregnancy test in 2 weeks and repeat if negative in 1 week. And if you are still not bleeding normally and first pregnancy test was negative, check it again in 1 week. But it is not likely that you are pregnant given the proximity of the date of intercourse, unless of course you had unprotected intercourse near your last ovulation date. Cold water and pain: For some people drinking cold water can cause stomach cramps because the temperature difference constricts the blood vessels in the stomach lining, as soon as the temperature reaches the stomach temperature then pain will go away, try drinking room temperature water. ...Read more
My daughter took omnacortil 40 on dr's advice just one month back & now she is having an acute stomach pain in just above her navel area. She is 17yr ?
Likely NOT related: Omnacortil is branded steroid called prednisolone, a commonly used medication which has powerful antiinflammatory effect. Typically it used for a short period of time, 3-7 days range. It has a relatively short half-life and thus out of the system quite quickly after last dose. Gastritis: I am so sorry to hear this! Pepto should help, but you should see an MD to see why this is happening especially if this in to the first time: you may need to be checked for H pylori. Hard to say: Stomach pain and seizure - the stomach pain ocudl be abdomenal seizures. You can have her discuss with her neurologist or gastroenterologist may be a clue. There are several possible causes of green urine. Urinary tract infection is the most common, and the urine may appear darkened or cloudy. It may not appear green or may take on a greenish tinge. True green urine is rare and most commonly results from dyes or food colorings or from certain medications.
