Flonase prescribed for allergies, but one ingredient is "benzalkonium chloride". This ingredient is also found in harsh cleaners! Safe to put in nose?
Yes: Claritin (loratadine) and zyrtec are both oral antihistamine agents that block the effects of histamine on what is called the h1 receptor. By doing this, they reduce the release of histamine, a substance that causes itching, runny nose, and sneezing. Been taking xyzal (levocetirizine) for allergic reac's, hives, & it is causing mood swings, depression. Would atarax be better choice, or basically the same thing?
No: For severe cough, we may prescribe Robitussin (guaifenesin) w/ codeine. It will help w/ cough suppression, illness pain, and insomnia. For people who do not tolerate codeine, vicotussin can be used; but that has hydro-codone, which you say you're sensitive to. That pretty much rules out the narcotics for cough suppression. You could use tessalon for great cough control, but without the sedation nor pain control. ...Read more

Xyzal (levocetirizine): Although there are many causes for reduced libido, xyzal (levocetirizine) can potentially cause fatigue and sedation in a small % of people leading to reduced sex drive. Try without it for a couple of days and see if the tiger gets awakened. Neither affects testosterone production or effect. ...Read more
