Is matalic acid bad for your body. It's an ingredient in five hour energy drinks.?

Is matalic acid bad for your body. It's an ingredient in five hour energy drinks.?

It's malic acid: And it probably doesn't do any more harm than any other carbohydrate (which is what it is - a sugar). Energy drinks are primarily "fueled" by caffeine. The additional vitamins, Amino Acids and sugars in it are window dressing and there is no evidence that they add anything to the "energy" derived from the caffeine. You are already on adderal-talk to your doctor about it before taking caffeine. ...Read more

Are five hour energy drinks every day bad for you?

Are five hour energy drinks every day bad for you?

Yes: The problem with 5 hour energy drinks is the amount of vitamins they contain (8333% recommended daily intake of b12). This is an essential, water soluble vitamin that is excreted by your kidney. However, taking this much every day could lead to kidney failure or other effects from an excess of vitamin b12. Anything is toxic to your body in extreme amounts, even water and oxygen! ...Read more

Is a five hour energy every day bad for you in the long run?

Is a five hour energy every day bad for you in the long run?

I would say so: For the most part; any of these "attention getting" products are not very good {short or long term} for you as they usually contain an extreme amount of sugar. If you find yourself having 'energy' problems make sure you start out the day with a healthy breakfast, drink plenty of water, and take a vitamin b complex supplement of your diet is poor. ...Read more

What are the health effects of drinking energy drinks like red bull and five hour energy?

What are the health effects of drinking energy drinks like red bull and five hour energy?

Not good: I have to admit I have used them occasionally, but I don't recommend them. Some are better than others, but they all have a lot of things in them that aren't very good for you and there is no quality control to guarantee they have exactly what it says on the label. Many of them have extremely high levels of caffeine. ...Read more

I am 32 years old, active and healthy but today when I drank a monster energy drink I instantly got chest pain and have had it for a few hours. Should I go to the er?

I vote YES: It's hard to tell what is causing the chest pain (may or may not be the heart). One's own doctor, if available, can offer advice and may want to do an EKG to see how the heart is doing (presuming the pain is mild). If no personal doctor is available, then the ER would be a place to go. If the chest pain is moderate or severe, calling 911 right away would be wise (in case there is heart problem) ...Read more

What to do if I'm feeling a little bit more active is if I drink an energy drink do any of you know when this will go away?

What to do if I'm feeling a little bit more active is if I drink an energy drink do any of you know when this will go away?

Too much caffeine: If you are feeling "speedy" its because energy drinks can have very large doses of caffeine, and some people are very sensitive to its effects. Sharply cut down, or (better) stop using these products. Natural energy comes from a combination of adequate sleep, exercise and a healthy diet, not from energy drinks. Caffeine is short-acting and its effects are generally gone by 4-6 hours, 12 at most. ...Read more

Anywhere: Lack of energy can come from a variety of situations. Why does psych medicine make you feel lazy?I use to be crazy active, walking, swim, ride...now I'm like eh. Unless I'm manic...then I'm endless energy

Med Management: The words "crazy active", "manic" and "endless energy" are suggestive of one of the Bipolar Disorders. With psychotropic medications, the key is finding the correct dosage. Hopefully you are seeing a psychiatrist for medication management issues. Additionally, it is not uncommon for those with Bipolar Disorder to miss the hypomania or manic phases. ...Read more
