I've been stooling for the past 2 days very regularly. Should I get a check up or will this just pass by?

I've been stooling for the past 2 days very regularly. Should I get a check up or will this just pass by?

It depends...: I assume you mean that you are having diarrhea, or loose stools. If so, as long as you are able to drink enough to stay hydrated, are not having bloody diarrhea, and you are otherwise feeling well, you can certainly give it a few more days. If you are having high fevers, bloody diarrhea, persistent vomiting, or any other concerns, you should see a doctor. ...Read more

I have not stooled for 4 days now after my colonoscopy. why?

I have not stooled for 4 days now after my colonoscopy. why?

Several variables:: The prep for the colonoscopy + the exam itself should have largely emptied your colon, which can hold quite a bit of material. Depending on both how much you have been eating & how much this food is not fully digested & absorbed (leaving residual material), combined with how much you usually retain within your colon, there will be a delay in recurrence of previous elimination amounts & patterns. ...Read more

If they continue, you should be seen by your family physician for further evaluation and management. ...Read more

It can be serious: Dark stools can be a sign that you are bleeding somewhere in your gastrointestinal tract (GI system). The stool is black (melena) because the blood has been digested. It can indicate that you have an ulcer or lesion in the tract somewhere. You need to be seen by your PCP or a gastroenterologist. A basic stool test can help. ...Read more

Embarrassing question but what could cause green maybe green blue areas in my normal colored stool. No diet change. 3 days in a row.

See answer: The vast major of green and blue discolorations of one's stool are related to diet and not disease. Green (blue+yellow =green)poop can be seen with excess green leafy vegetables (chlorophyll), excess iron, artificial food dyes (ice cream, cake frosting, liquorice candy, etc). Less often by excess bile. Blue poop most often also related to food dyes (e.g. Blue curaƧao, grape soda). Re-evaluate diet. ...Read more

My 10day old daugther hasent Done stool in 2days what can happen and what can I do?

Newborn and stool: True constipation in a baby is when he/she has hard stools. Occasional but soft, easy-to-pass poops are not constipation and rarely require help. Also, bowel movement patterns vary on every baby, and as long as the stools are soft and the baby is eating well, there is nothing to worry about. Contact your pediatrician If the baby has hard stools, has bloody or black stools, or is uncomfortable. ...Read more
