How to treat acne that bleeds with pus?

How to treat acne that bleeds with pus?

Aggressively: Benzoyl peroxide will probably not be sufficient, but apply it while you're waiting to see your physician; you'll need prescription-strength treatment. A topical or systemic antibiotic may be in your future, or a retinoic acid derivative; if this is cystic acne, you will probably be a candidate for Isotretinoin -- powerful stuff and not for the faint-hearted. ...Read more

The age of a patient and gender also will dictate what medicine you should be on. I have a pimple that seems no need to remove the pus. I am worried that it will leave an acne pit. How will I know if it won't leave acne pit. Thanks?

Thanks?

Watch it: You are less likely to get a crater / icepick if it reabsorbs rather than ruptures, but not much. If this pimple is special enough to write about, perhaps it is actually something else, such as an early inclusion cyst. If it is stable for two weeks, consider a physican's office visit. ...Read more

Suffering from nodular cystic acne. On 6th week of isotrion medi. Acne started to dry bt can still feel pus filled under surface. How will it cure?

Isotretinoin: Just be patient; it is normal to have some slight flaring in first 2 months. Do not pick at the lesions, it will just make them worse. Most patients look pretty great after 3 months. ...Read more

Manage it: Topical benzoyl peroxide, maybe 5%, 1-2x/day. If you're not clear in two weeks, get with your physician who can add prescription-strength Rx. Ignore all "pop" wisdom about "what you did to cause your acne". It is non-lifestyle-related and you need to manage it until it self-cures, which it will eventually do. It's unpredictable. Best wishes. ...Read more

Breaking out! pus-y filled acne on face recently. Don't have major acne issues, but just started eating meat again&coffee? What the cause/how to fix?!

Diet vs acne: Although many patients will relate acne outbreaks to diet this is highly individual and learned through trial and error with avoidance being the best route. Stress and hormonal alterations are also contributing factors to consider. Accutane remains the single most effective treatment and should be prescribed and supervised by a physician. ...Read more

My acne I have is gettn worse, I scratch or push on my nose or cheeks n white pus oozes out.N always oily skin no matter what I do!plz help!?

See your doctor: It will be best if you saw your primary doctor first. They may be able to start you off on a combination of topical and/or oral medications as they think appropriate to use to bring things under control. If they are not comfortable, you will be referred to a dermatologist or similar to evaluate and treat you. Do not scratch, pick or otherwise manipulate your pimples. It will lead to scarring. ...Read more

Oily back n acne since puberty but now when i scratch my back, my nails would easily build up something brown, what is that?I know Its not blood n pus

Please don't scratch: First, try as much as possible not to scratch, as it can lead to more skin irritation and scarring. Keep your nails short and use your acne care products as well as moisturizing your skin to prevent it from drying and itching. The brown material you are scratching off is likely sebum mixed with skin cells or scabs from healing acne lesions. ...Read more

I have a red bump in the dip of my cupids bow, its just a small red bump and theres no pus or anything. I don't know if its herpes or acne I'm crying!

Stop crying: I'm betting it's an infected hair. Watch it and consider putting a warm compress in place. If it's not better in two weeks, get seen. If it's not really painful, it's almost certainly not herpes. ...Read more

My acne itches, bleeds, lots of pus comes out of it, and dry dead skin around it, does this mean i will have scars if i don't get it treated quick enough?

Get treated: You owe it to yourself to be treated, now, and not just to prevent scars. The oral contraceptive pill, if you can take it, works wonders for many women. Acne that's this extensive will probably require a systemic antibiotic such as Erythromycin or tetracycline as your physician thinks best, plus topical rx. Women seldom require Accutane but this is the big guns. Good luck. ...Read more
