I have acne on my chin & forehead and some acne scars on my cheeks. Cheap acne face wash to get rid of it fast?
Yes: Most marks resulting from acne lesions are due to excess pigment in the skin (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation). This will resolve on its own, eventually. However, it can take months. Prescription bleaching creams or chemical peels are great ways to speed this process up. See a qualified physician to discuss your needs, as you may be more prone to develop complications with such treatments. ...Read more
Pimples on forehead: Forehead is a common area for acne breakouts. Also, if one uses an oily leave-in conditioner, the oils track down from the scalp and block up pores, which can lead to acne. Folliculitis, inflammation of hair follicles due to a yeast called pityrosporum is also a possibility. Please see your dermatologist for a more definitive diagnosis. ...Read more

Scientific Rx: Topical benzoyl peroxide as tolerated. I see that you already have scarring from your acne having been neglected when you were younger. I'm sorry this happened. Any advice about how to treat acne? Whiteheads on checks? Blackheads on nose? Pimples on chin, forehead, and around the eyes? Advice?
Some options...: For treatment of acne, over-the-counter benzoyl peroxide gel/cream is quite helpful. If desired, a doctor can add an antibiotic gel/cream such as Cleocin (clindamycin phosphate) gel. If more help is needed, prescription retinoids such as Retin-A or Differin gel can be used instead of benzoyl peroxide. Oral antibiotics such as tetracycline can be used also. If acne is quite severe, a dermatologist might use oral ccutane. ...Read more
