Does direct sunlight make acne worse or better?

Does direct sunlight make acne worse or better?

Better, but marginal: Simply exposing oneself to light should make acne better, however, due to the long time necessary to see a result makes this a poor method, especially with the risks of increased sun exposure (skin cancers, premature aging etc.) topical medications, oral medications, as well as special light therapy done by a dermatologist are all proven to work for acne with much better safety profiles. ...Read more

Is sunlight good for acne/pimples?

Is sunlight good for acne/pimples?

You're using antifungal for some reason, you've designated chapped lips by a medical term, and you're evidently not being treated scientifically for common acne. If topical benzoyl peroxide hasn't cleared you in two weeks, get with your physician and demand a trial of prescription-strength Rx or take yourself to someone who'll provide it. ...Read more

The first few weeks of use as your skin is adjusting to the treatment you will experience dryness, flaking, scaling, redness and irritation. Can the sun clear acne?

Can the sun clear acne?

No: One more myth, and a cruel one. Sun exposure damages the skin and probably won't do much for the acne. We have scientific rx's for acne that work remarkably well and in the 21st century, it's inexcusable not to make these available to a young person with this serious disease. ...Read more
