Acne scars: Acne scars need resurfacing and the dermis to regrow in a normal pattern. No gell or cream is appropriate. Fractional ablation laser treatments or chemical peels will accomplish this. Some work with stem cells sounds very promising in the future, where injected into scarred sites. Not reccommended as anything more than experimental currently. ...Read more

Scar improvement: Scar improvement can be achieved, but it takes patience. An overnight improvement is simply impossible. There is no clinical evidence to support Mederma. You need a long peel. This is achieved with tretinoins. Also, microdermabrasion and/or dermabrasion depending on scar depth.
