Try this: Retinoic acid instead of or in addition to. It's more likely to cause de-differentiation of your sebaceous glands. If you want to be rid of the acne, or if it's on your trunk as well, ask your physician whether a short course of oral medication occasionally might help -- tetracycline's one option, and you stay on the topical stuff. Get treated: There's no way to tell. Ultimately, acne remits as you get older. I was able to stop taking maintenance tetracycline around age 50. You're sixteen years old and you can take the initiative with your treatment.
