It depends: There are a few surgical options for wt loss and a few are actually very effective in reducing gerd symptoms. I do have patients who report more gerd sx after lap band but usually improves with dietary modification. I'm 36.Suffering from Indigestion, acidity.Often acidic food comes up after few hrs of eating,with freq burping & gas. PPI relieves but re-occurs if stopped.Mild heartbn.SGPT/SGOT/Bilirubin slight high.Mild fatty liver. Pancreas profile OK. Is it CA?

GERD: Follow a light,bland diet; take prilosec; take mylanta four times a day. Drinking hot water and applying a hot water bottle or heat to the abdomen helps break down the gas and moves it along. Avoid alcohol,caffeine and nicotine. U may have IBS: Irritable bowel syndrome is a very common diagnosis, more so in female, but happens more and more these days. If you have blood in stool and/or wt loss, please consult doc for eval for possible ulcerative colitis or crohn's disease etc.. Stress tends to worsen ibs symptoms. Hi. Can Zantac (ranitidine) cause increased gas? Can suppressing acid make it harder to digest foods which causes gas, bloating, and constipation?
Low acid: Both low acid and high acid cause similar symptoms. Try apple cider vinegar or sauerkraut with each meal . Change diet to only foods from a plant and not made in a plant(no processed foods). Each green leafy and squashy vegetables. Avoid gluten protein containing foods like wheat, rye and barley based. Probably: Both anxiety and gastritis can cause gas. Anxiety attacks can lead to accidental swallowing of air from hyperventilation. That air has no where to go but down and can becomes flatulence. Gastritis can cause gas if the cause of the gastritis produces gas. Certain bacteria produce gas as an effect of their normal metabolism. Different ones: Stomach ulcer symptoms are made worse by lack of food in the stomach & made worse with alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, etc. Often eating some food improves ulcer symptoms. Yes: Tums is typically what i tell pregnant women with heartburn to start with, as it also gets you extra calcium, which is good in pregnancy unless you are at risk for kidney stones. Oh...at : Oh...At first i didn't know what you were talking about. It's kind of an odd thing to think your bowel gas is affecting your shoulder. I will take the leap of assuming it is the right shoulder. I am also assuming that you mean it bothers you when you feel gassy in the abdomen. This can be a classic sign of gall bladder disease. It is called referred pain. Most people experience it in the right shoulder. Your physician or a general surgeon can help you with gall bladder problems. However, atypical angina (heart pain) can also present as shoulder symptoms and upset stomach. With a history of hypertension, you have an increased risk of heart attack.
