Deoxygenated blood enters the lungs from the right side of the heart and travels to the lungs. When you inspire, oxygen flows into the lungs, transverses the capilliares and attaches to hemoglobin down a gradient. At the same time, co2 diffuses into the capilaries and is expelled with exhalation. Oxygen rich blood then flows to the left side of the heart and into the ...Read more

Chest pain should never be ignored. It is crucial that you seek emergency medical attention to determine if you are suffering a heart attack, especially if use of otc antacids are not relieving your pain.
While chest pain can be attributed to indigestion, it is so important to go to the emergency room to have your cardiac status and labs assessed. Heart attacks are caused by a blockage in the heart that cuts off vital circulation to certain parts of the heart, causing tissue injury and chest pain is a sign of injury - this can be fatal!

Can acid reflux give you chest pain that also is in your back? No other signs of symptoms. It is accompanied by good coming back up.
Esophagus: GERD causes heartburn and sour eructations but spasm of the esophagus is what causes upper midback discomfort as well as pain in the front of the chest. Prilosec type medications relieve the acid reflux symptoms, but an esophageal spasm may be helped by drinking a glass of water. A gastroenterologist is best qualified to advise you about these symptoms. ...Read more
I have acid reflux and take zegerid (40 mg) daily. Recently, I am experiencing a tightness in the middle of my chest. I have no other symptoms
Zegerid is a combination of Omeprazole (a proton pump inhibitor antacid) plus sodium bicarbonate as a quick relief antacid and helps to protect Omeprazole while in transit thru the stomach. It is used for patients with ulcers, gastritis and gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn).
Chest tightness can be from a variety of reasons and needs better characterization. It can be from a gastrointestinal cause, such as gastroesophageal reflux, but can also be due to cardiac reasons, such as angina or a heart attack, or from lung problems, such as asthma, as well as from musculoskeletal problems. If this tightness has not been usually associated with your heartburn, then I suggest that you seek medical attention to make sure that this is not cardiac in nature. Since you do not provide any information about other medical conditions, history of risk factors for heart problems, such as smoking, elevated cholesterol levels, diabetes, hypertension, I cannot give you an indication of likelihood of any of these diagnosis. ...Read more

Multiple bubble popping noise around chest area feels like firecrackers popping no pain or symptoms in chest does it have to do with acid reflux/gerd?
I take Prilosec and Zantac (ranitidine) for acid reflux problems, my symptoms r better (chest, etc)But when I take Prilosec it seems it gets hard for me to swallow.
GERD: Gerd can cause difficulty swallowing, so it is difficult from your description to tell whether you have insufficiently treated Gerd or if you're having a problem with the Prilosec itself. Your best bet would be to see the doctor who recommended the Prilosec to determine if you should switch medicines or if you need further evaluation. You can use the Zantac (ranitidine) and/or Tums in the meantime. Good luck. ...Read more

Yelling or speaking fast and loud cause coughing could this be a symptom of acid reflux? Also chest pain and a wierd stomach burn especially when hungry
I think: "yelling or speaking fast/loud" could precipitate throat irritation and a cough; there's nothing about that that would suggest acid reflux. However, the second set of symptoms...chest pain and "weird stomach burn" could definitely be related to reflux. Would be ok to restrict acid foods (fried food, alcohol, high fat meat/dairy products, caffeine) and try OTC anti-acids for 7-10 days. Then to Doc! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
