Find cause of nausea: Nausea may be gi-related (food poisoning, peptic disease, gastroparesis, due to biliary ; pancreatic disease, gas/bloat syndrome, small bowel problems). Consider "central" causes: motion sickness, vertigo, migraine headache, brain problems (some very serious). Also, rule out infection (? Vomiting or regurg?: Big difference--if regurgitating foods as you describe (that promote gastroesophageal reflux), then you probably are describing gerd ; diet modification (; acid reducer) is in order. If you are really vomiting as often as your question implies, then you have a bigger problem that warrants medical evaluation (checking for ulcers, gallbladder disease, pancreatitis, gastroparesis, pregnancy, etc.). ...Read more

GERD: YOU need to modify your diet like not eating fatty or spicy foods. Don't eat large meals, don't eat late at night. Don't lay down for 2 hours after eating. If you smoke, quit! You may need prescription strength medicine long term and have an Upper endoscopy to rule out H.Pylori infections and other conditions like Barretts esophagus.
