Quick onset-severe body aches fever headache. No cough/sore thrt/congestion. Fever 101-102.5. Slight vomiting yest but no real stomach discomfort?
Possibly virus: For significant sore throat with swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see physician ; get a strep throat test/ culture. If you have strep throat, antibiotic therapy is imperative to prevent future complications. Consider tylenol (acetaminophen) or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications. Saltwater gargles: mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle several times a day. Or gargle with aloe vera juice twice a day. ...Read more

See your doctor : It would be important to note how long these symptoms have been present. Nausea, severe fatigue, anorexia, facial flushing, and cough are systemic (internal) symptoms and can be caused by a number of things, such as viral infections, rheumatological disorders, white & blood cell disorders, neuroendocrine tumors, etc. Really need an in person exam, +/- chest xray, +/- basic labs to start with. ...Read more

Be careful: If you aren't feeling better soon after taking the bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) seek a re-evaluation. It's possible that the urinary tract infection is caused by a bacteria resistant to Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) or worse that the bacteria has gotten into your blood stream. Probable viral: All of these symptoms are nonspecific but certainly very compatable with a viral illness that usually is self limited and will pass in 3-5 days. May be influenza: Although not the season for the flu, the description of the symptoms are fairly typical for viral infection. Assuming that you are otherwise healthy and not exposed to other infectious agents or traveled outside of the US recently, these symptoms usually will pass in a week.
