See doctor: You should see a doctor, from the information you gave, a rheumatologist would be the most appropriate. Some times it takes a while to nail the diagnosis. Protein and blood in urine need to be taken seriously. Be well.

? Carpal Tunnel: See your doctor and find out if you have carpal tunnel syndrome. This often happens at night. Wearing a wrist splint may help as well as 50 to 100 mg of vit b6 (pyridoxine). Good luck.

Finger pain: You should see your PCP as this could be early signs of a connective tissue disorder such as RA, scleroderma or lupus. You need to be evaluated and possibly have lab work done.

My hands swell up at night and also my wrist and finger ache?

Arthritis: Hi. Several autoimmune arthritis's get worse at night and are worse upon waking, then get better during the course of the day, only to repeat the cycle the next night. These include psoriatic arthritis (do you have psoriasis?) and rheumatoid arthritis. See your doc; you may need a referral to a rheumatologist. Good luck!

Carpal tunnel?: The numbness is likely a nerve compression it could in turn be due to weight work condition or arthritis or combination of factors best to see your doctor they will evaluate and decide if you need to see neurology physical medicine orthopedics or other specialist.

I have been experiencing just this week a constant ache and swelling in all the joints in my hands and fingers. How do I get relief from the pain?

The answer is: A number of OTC (Over the Counter) medications can help. Probably the most effective is plain old ASPIRIN Two regular strength Aspirin every 6 hours...This is "First Aid" not true TREATMENT! See your Health Care Professional if the swelling persists. ALSO if you are taking any NEW medication STOP IT and call the Prescribing Doctor!! Hope this helps, Good luck and BE WELL Dr Z

The: The combination of a trigger fingers that often stays locked, arthritis in the small joints of the fingers, tightness and swelling in the fingers, and clinical deviation or deformity of some joints from more advanced arthritic changes can be overwhelming. Despite your fear of the shots you may want ot try again but understand that the injection alone may not solve all these issues. Even surgery, that can end the locking phenomena may still leave you rjoints stiff and sore for the other reasoons/problems I mention. Still do nothing and your not giving yourself a chance to get better antiinflammatories may help somewhat but are palliative not curative. See your pcp or see a hand surgeon, perhaps its time for reevaluation, new xrays another injection and possibly surgical treatment.

Need exam: At your age this could be many things so an examination if symptoms continue is indicated. Tennis elbow (tendinitis), carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar n. Entrapment @ elbow (cubital tunnel); radicular pain from a disc prob. In neck, thoracic outlet syndrome etc. Are all in diff. Dx.Now w/o a detailed hx and exam to go on... See your md for eval. And possible referral to specialist if sx. S continue!

See your doctor: Likely unrelated to the statin if symptoms persist. See doctor. Chk thyroid, do evaluation for rheumatologic problems including bloodwork and check thyroid status.

Feeling dull ache in my outer hand on the metacarpal of the index finger It came on dying bicep curls. I rested it for a couple months, but still the?

Hard to say: There are multiple possibilities. You could have ruptured an extensor to the index finger, as that finger has two extensor tendons and so you would still have extension of the finger if you ruptured one, it could be a variant of carpal tunnel syndrome in that the median nerve does supply the index finger. A hand specialist would likely be able to tell you, don't hesitate to be seen.

Compression symptoms: These vague symptoms could have several sources, and I recommend you seek a medical exam and opinion. You may have some degree of thoracic outlet syndrome, which is caused by a compression of nerve and/or vein by the first rib. Again, please seek a medical evaluation.

I have a knot in my right shoulder, it causes a numbing ache in my shoulder, arm and hand, my fingers go from a numb feeling to a tingle. Please help.

I have a knot in my right shoulder, it causes a numbing ache in my shoulder, arm and hand, my fingers go from a numb feeling to a tingle. Please help.

Need an exam: You should see a primary care doctor or neurologist for an examination to see if there's sign of any nerve or vessel compression. Sounds like there's also a component of myofascial pain with the right shoulder knot. That can be treated awith a trigger point injection. I'm available for consults if you'd like to discuss further.

SEE MD TODAY: This could be angina, chest pain and referred pain to the left shoulder/left scapular area and sensations traveling down left arm. If this is the case, symptoms indicate insufficient blood flow in your heart. Call your doctor today. It could be something else (panic attacks +\- gastric reflux), but acute heart disease must be ruled out. Consider:go to er next episode for ekg, exam, labwork.
