Pain tingling in calf and pain in arch of foot. Numbness in Achilles. Slight swelling at base of calf muscle in right leg. Any ideas what's wrong?
Can be several things:
1. tingling and numbness usually represent nerve pain - the sural nerve runs behind the calf muscle and could be pinched
2. the pain in the arch could be tednonitis - the posterior tibial tendon - when injured it can cause deep calf soreness and arch pain especially behind the ankle area.
3. tarsal tunnel syndrome
I would suggest you see a Podiatrist or Foot & Ankle doctor ...Read more

Numbness that shoots from the big toe up the lower limb and triggered by movement of the toe sounds like neuritis. Neuritis is caused by irritation or injury to a nerve. In this case, the involved nerve could be one of the digital (that's digit as in toes) nerves to the big toe, the medial plantar nerve, or the posterior tibial nerve. Since feet take such a beating, from things including the activities we do and the things we wear on our feet, it is not surprising that the nerves in our feet can be injured. Digital nerves can sometimes become swollen, causing something called morton's neuroma. The medial plantar nerve can be hurt by badly-fitting arch supports. The posterior tibial nerve can get pinched at the ankle, something called tarsal tunnel syndrome. Foot nerves can also be made more liable to injury by other conditions, like diabetes and vascular disease.
Podiatrists, who specialize in diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the feet, may be a good resource for foot nerve injuries. ...Read more

I am havin severe calf muscle and foot pain 24*7. It increases very much with flatulence. Since 4 months. Pl help?
I don't think...: The flatulence has anything to do with your foot. It sounds like you may have a pinched nerve in your lumbar spine or possibly a herniated disk. This could certainly cause significant calf and foot pain. When you apply pressure via your bowels with straining, voiding, defecating, passing gas or even sneezing it can exacerbate the leg syptoms as the disk increases its pressure on the nerves. ...Read more
