Many side effects: Also known as darvon/darvocet most pain physicians have stopped rx. Basically works on opioid receptors but linked to overdose if taken with alcohol and other sedatives . Not come across one!: Good evening, during my 40 years of practice, I have not come across a patient with an allergy to acetaminophen. I do not see any reason to worry about other medications, you need to avoid. When we say allergy, we mean a reaction due to presence of a specific antibody that causes symptoms of allergy. It depends: The answer depends on the symptoms associated with the tylenol (acetaminophen) and if the Motrin reaction extends to other nsaids (aspirin etc). True allergy to Acetaminophen (tylenol (acetaminophen)) is unusual. If there is NSAID sensitivity, most can tolerate Celebrex (despite the warning) since being a cox-2 antagonist.
