Accutane And Marijuana
What are the effects of the use of marijuana while taking accutane, I know your gonna say not to but I want to know the physical effects?
No, you're fine: It'll make you giggle, gag and choke like it does everybody else. There's been no special problems reported either with acne or isotretinoin. You may have a bit of squamous metaplasia of your airways so you make choke on your toke a bit more than in the past. Drink plenty of fluids. I'm really glad your acne's being treated. Don't spend to much time being goofy & enjoy your new good health. ...Read more
II have smoked marijuana 3 times while on accutane. I started my 2nd month of accutane (60mg) today. Will the weed affect the way the accutane works?
No interaction but..:
Marijuana can interact with many medicines, though most of the interactions are mild consisting of "may increase side effects such as drowsiness and dizziness."
There is no known interaction with accutane and it will not affect how it works.
HOWEVER, I consider accutane a dangerous drug that should be avoided if possible. There are safer alternatives. See http://tinyurl. Com/ha76qds ...Read more
Don't do it: When you started up on accutane, you probably made a promise not to drink alcohol while you're taking it, to be good to your liver. You'd do well to keep this promise. Congratulations on your courage to take this medicine and clear your acne. It's a brave start to a new life. Why go into it goofy from smoking "weed" -- even if it's legal where you live? ...Read more

Using it, right?: Mj has been linked to a 3-fold increase in schizophrenia. It's use has been linked to decreased brain function, & linked to shrinkage of the thalamus, an important brain structure that controls or modulates neural activity. All in all, a wolf in sheep's clothing. In many cases it is definitely a gateway drug introducing acceptance to other drug experimentation & possibly addictions. It's illegal. ...Read more

More negatives: If you're dying from an incurable disease can't eat & have lots of nausea, then mj is for you. Otherwise, mj is a disaster. Takes away motivation, reasoning, perception & persistence. No science here: Mdma / ecstasy is now a familiar recreational drug, less deadly than cocaine, heroin, or methamphetamine but with some effects that may be serious and are under study. So far, there's no scientific work or pop wisdom on its interaction with cannabis. Whatever the wisdom of the laws, these substances are illegal and the supplies unregulated. Depends: An addiction is a brain disease. It causes a person to engage in behaviors which may lead to dire consequences. The person knows that but engages in the behavior anyway, because they are addicted. It is all about the consequences. Is a person missing work or school or spending too much money or getting in trouble with the law? Cannabis use can lead to addiction, especially with regular use. ...Read more
It's illegal: It is hard to say mj is okay when it's illegal. I know that there are many recreational smokers who get in little trouble with only very occasional use. When recreational use starts occurring more regular like daily, a person is starting to develop perhaps a habit. Sometimes, this leads to use of other drugs. I have seen mostly the people for whom mj has led to dire consequences and addictions. ...Read more

Agree with Dr. Baker: Shingles pain can be prolonged, and physically, and mentally debilitating.
