Low white blood count be low but lymphocytes high?

It still could be ap: It still could be appendicitis but the lymphocytes suggest maybe a viral infection. There is a well validated score system called the alvarado score which predicts the chance that your symptoms are from appendicitis. See my website for more at www. Appendicitis. Pro. See "do I have appendicitis? You should definitely see a doctor today. Discuss getting a ctscan with her. ...Read more

Nothing by itself: How do you FEEL? High granulocytes may warn of illness if there are symptoms, but simply a icy-cold shower can raise them even more impressively. If you feel well, relax and be thankful for good health. ...Read more

Can you explain my lab results albumin 3.6 few large platelets lymphocytes % 4% neutrophils% 86% white blood count 12.6x10^3 ul.?

This is serious: No flippancy or disrespect intended. I'm not so concerned about the lowish albumin, and even less about the few big platelets, but your absolute lymphcyte count is way-low and your high absolute neutrophil count also worries me greatly. You need a fully history, physical exam, HIV test, probably anti-nuclear antibody and more from a competent, determined physician. ...Read more

I have a high white blood count low mch and low mchc and high neutrophils{absolute} and high lymphs{absolute} what causes this?

Lots of stuff: These white cell numbers alone can rest from something as simple as a cold shower. If you feel well and all white cells look normal, forget about them. If you have an anemia and/or possible blood loss, the low MCHC / MCH suggests iron deficiency. This happened to me when I was donating a lot of blood and eating mostly vegetarian style. ...Read more

In chemotherapy. White blood count low and fever. Also very tierd and sleepy. Can it def be infection as low white cell count? What could the extreme tierdness be?

Watch out for Fever!: There are more than one causes for feeling tired. Infection can cause it as you indicated but here fever is the first symptom. So if you feel cold, shiver, check your temp or go to an ER for evaluation. If you do not feel feverish (Hot or very cold), Anemia/low Hemoglobin (Hb) is another common reason especially after multiple cycles of chemo. If your Hb is >10Gram, no fever, then chemo may cause ...Read more

Would a continuos low white blood count cause fatigue?

Would a continuos low white blood count cause fatigue?

Low WBC count: It depends on how low the count is. The usual lower limit of normal for most labs is around 3, 500 wbc/mm3. If you are in the 1500-3499 range, this is probably not causing the fatigue. If it goes down lower, it may make you more susceptible to certain infections, which could cause fatigue. It if is very low, you need to look for a specific cause, and many of these might cause fatigue. ...Read more

Back pain: Steroid injections will cause the white blood cell counts to rise rather than fall. My 9month grandson white blood count is low I believe 3.5 what can we do to improve this my grandson's mom is anemic

My 9month grandson white blood count is low I believe 3.5 what can we do to improve this my grandson's mom is anemic

Since: Since normal ranges can vary from lab to lab, you should talk to your grandson's doctor about his white blood cell count and whether it is of any concern. In some labs, 3.5 could still be considered in the normal range. Also, it is important to know why the doctor drew the test in the first place since this can give insight as to what they were looking for and whether his white cell count is worrisome. For example, if he had a mild viral illness like a runny nose when the test was drawn, that could cause a slightly low white cell count and so a number such as 3.5 would be expected and will improve when he's feeling better.

Anemia usually refers to a red blood cell count, not a white count, so his mother's anemia is likely unrelated. ...Read more
