Robotic surgery : It is possible that there was an injury to your intestines during the removal of your ovary which caused the abscess. Generally, with an abdominal abscess, you don't need to remove intestines unless there was a problem with the intestines that caused the abscess. ...Read more

What is an adnexal mass on the right ovary mean?

Adnexal mass: It is a mass that is seen in the area adjacent to the uterus. Usually this means that it is related to the fallopian tube or ovary on that given side. There are many different things that can be called an "adnexal mass" (i.e. Ovarian cyst, abscess, neoplasm, fibroid, etc). Discuss this with your doctor. ...Read more

I have infected ovaries and are starting to hurt during sex. I thought it went away but it's not. Might I have cancer?

Not likely: Cancer is not high on the list of causes. Active infection and scar tissue from previous infection are near the top of the list. Don't settle for ongoing infection. Find out if your infection was not eradicated and, if not, keep pursuing it. ...Read more

I was told I have a pelvic abscess, but they don't know from where or why? They said wait 1 mos for any changes and come back. Isn't it too long time?

I was told I have a pelvic abscess, but they don't know from where or why? They said wait 1 mos for any changes and come back. Isn't it too long time?

Suspicious: If you have a pelvic abscess, you should at least have been given antibiotics. Small abscesses can resolve with just antibiotics. Larger abscesses have to be drained either by surgery or by image guidance (ct or ultrasound). Waiting a month with antibiotics could be appropriate if the abscess is small. If you are not on antibiotics you should ask your dr about them. ...Read more

Maybe not . . .: You might be describing a hematoma (collection of blood) or an abscess (pus pocket). Best to go back & see your OB for an evaluation. Don't wait any longer to see if it'll go away. ...Read more

What is the cause of high white blood cells and liquid on my ovaries?

Inflammation: The presence of elevated levels of wbcs in the peripheral blood suggests some systemic illness, often infection, but may be due to other factors. Not sure what you mean by liquid on your ovaries, but you may have an infected cyst, abscess, or pelvic inflammatory disease, or other issues. Discuss with your gynecologist. ...Read more
