Abscess Gum Home Remedy
I plucked my butt hair a few days ago and I think it may have gone infected (anal abscess?). Should I get myself checked or will home remedy work?
Perianal abscess: It is not uncommon that by plucking a hair in the perianal area that an abscess can develop. The area is constantly contaminated and at risk for infection. Should that happen, warm sitz baths 2-3x/day help bring vascular supply to the area needed for healing. If the site doesn't resolve, then antibiotics may be needed. Rare for surgical intervention.
What is the best home remedy to reduce swelling caused by an abscessed tooth? I'll be going into my dentist to have him look at my tooth soon, but I would like some proven things I can do at home to reduce swelling and pain..
Dr.: Dr. Mcleod is right. There is nothing that you can do at home. In addition, going to the emergency room just wastes previous tax dollars. Please go see your dentist, or go to the many free clinics, or hospitals residencies out there. The resources are there. You just have to go... Best wishes, dr. Zev kaufman.See 2 more doctor answers
What is a good home remedy for a skin abscess? I have a swelling on my right shoulder that is colored red and is painful upon touching it. It has been there for about one week now. Having researched it on the internet, I believe it is a skin abscess. What
Boil: Boils are referred to as abscesses, in the medical community. They can occur from breaks in the skin, which provide a route of infection for bacteria to form an abscess (collection of pus/infection). When this happens, you may need to see a medical provider who may need to prescribe you antibiotics or incise and drain the abscess. Some home remedies may include a warm compress and ibuprofen.See 1 more doctor answer

Red flag: Swelling is one of the signals your body uses to tell you that there's something wrong. By the time your gums are swollen enough to alarm you there is probably a significant gum disease problem that requires professional care, and you are probably beyond a diy cure. Please see your dentist for an examination and evaluation now. Referral to a periodontist may be indicated.See 2 more doctor answers

Home remedy for receeding gums and cavities? I can't see my dentist for a few weeks. Also, I have a bald patch just above my right ear?
Alopecia: There is a condition called alopecia which causes the hair to fall out. This is different from male pattern baldness which is genetic and not a disorder. A dermatologist can tell you if you have alopecia (an autoimmune disorder) and treat it w/medication. Peace and good health. See dentist for mouth issues and consider chewing a gum called SPRY or using the tooth paste by the same company.
Sedation: Please get sedation. You will need to be healthy and get clearance from your medical doctor. If there are any medical concerns this needs to be discussed. If you are healthy, sedation will be great for you. The types are oral or IV sedation. Depending on your situation both options can be discussed. Ask your dentist about this.See 1 more doctor answer

Hi, I have gum abscess, I have taken amoxicillin in past, I have few Doxycycline pills, can I take to start treatment until I get new script for Amox?
No: Antibiotics are prescribed for a specific diagnosis by a provider. If you are making your own diagnosis then you are short changing yourself. Using left over meds means you did not completely treat a previous infection. Using the wrong antibiotic can lead to overgrowth of bacteria and or side effects. See a dentist for diagnosis and proper treatment.See 1 more doctor answer
No: This is way to difficult to do looking in a mirror, I would be concerned that you could do quite a bit of damage in your attempt. This is a dental problem, you need to see your dentist asap to determine the exact cause of your abscess and perform the correct treatment and only prescribe the correct dose of the right medication. See photo, this is a problem.See 1 more doctor answer
No: The "gum boil" is the result of infection trying to move to the area of least resistance. If you pop it at home without supervision then you risk spreading the infection. Amoxicillin typically takes 2 - 3 days to work. If it is not painful then be patient for a couple of days, it may go away. If not call your healthcare provider.See 1 more doctor answer
