I had my bartholomew abscess drained in the ER about 7 months ago. I healed okay but it still re occurs. How can I be back to normal? No removal

Bartholin's Cyst: If they aren't completely removed, can tend to recur...An option is having a catheter placed that has a small balloon in it to allow your body to make a permanent fistula (bigger permanent hole) that will allow it to drain--it is removed after a while, and hopefully will not become re-infected again. Talk to your gyn about that type of surgical procedure. ...Read more

If this is a dental issue then it is from an infected tooth that may or may not have a root canal. The best thing to do in this instance is to see a dentist and get the offending tooth treated. ...Read more

Had an abscess drained from my armpit on 7/20. I still have a hard lump and painful. Could it still be an abscess there or cyst?

Residual disease: Well that should be re-examined by the doctor who cut into it. If it was a surgeon, I expect they will do a proper job in re-exploring the area and taking the necessary action. It's possible the abscess arose from an infected cyst, or there could be some undrained portion that wasn't reached in the first procedure. Hopefully you can go back ASAP to get that looked at. ...Read more
