My daughter is having unusually long heavy menstrual periods that last 12 days sometimes more. Is this normal? If not what can be done to prevent it?
No and yes: No not normal & yes an be prevented. She should have lab testing done. Thyroid disorder, coagulation studies, a liver panel & check for anemia would be a good start. It's possible it's just her hormones working themselves out. Birth control pills or cyclical Progesterone can shorten and lighten the flow.
