Endometrium is enlarged an mildy heterogeneous, prior to this endometrium was normal in size and contour. Can my uterine polyp cause abnormal findings?
Somewhat: Depends, if they were all small polyps with biopsy showing that they were hyperplastic polyps they have little significance, if however they are large (greater that. 5 cm to 1cm) and adenomas that would be unusual and would require close follow up. ...Read more
What is the meaning of, chronical inflamation polyp endocervix with focal atypical immature squamos metaplasia? Thanks.
Endometrial polyps: Endometrial polyps are friable (which means they bleed very easy) If you see one sticking out the cervix and touch it with a swab they begin bleeding very quickly ...Read more
I have uterine and cervical polyps and have had the abnormal bleeding but now I am experiencing lots of pain, is that from the polyps?
Its possible: See your doctor for treatment options.Get a more detailed answer ›
Lysteda: Lysteda may stop the bleeding, but you should plan to have the polyp removed. A polyp removed from the uterine lining can be done thought the cervix, with no incisions. It is called a hysteroscopic polypectomy. ...Read more

4.5 wks, bleeding & colic for 48 hrs, irregular contour of gest. Sac, no yolk sac, poor residual reaction, sac size. 5 cm, cervical polyp any hope?
There's always hope: Sounds very serious but try to follow up with OB as it seems like you've been checked out. Whatever the outcome will be, don't loose hope. Rather try to focus on the good things that await you in the future. ...Read more
I had a cervical polyp removed. If I go for a pap in three months will it be abnormal because of the inflammation from my cervix?
Small nasal polyp on bottom of left frontal sinus and polyp in left maxillary floor. Could these polyps cause unusual tastes with increased mucus?
Perhaps but: If these were diagnosed on a ct scan, I would wager that the findings may actually be more consistent with mucus retention cyst or mucosal thickening rather than polyp. See an ENT who can perform an endoscopic evaluation in the office for appropriate diagnosis and treatment. Polyps may cause increased nasal discharge. ...Read more
Hi my endometrium is 2cm, maybe attributable to an underlying endmetrial polyp, im not married. And have irregular period. I'm 24, can this be fixed?
Is a D&C Required for an echogenic focus--endometrium polyp 1.2 x. 7 x 1 seen in transvaginal US 2 yrs. Ago, or watch & wait? No abnormal bleeding.
Probably not needed: Since most endometrial polyps in premenopausal women are benign and some small ones (like the one you may have had 2 years ago) may regress spontaneously, there is no clear or urgent need a D and C. If you are concerned or considered at high risk for endometrial hyperplasia/cancer, you may want to discuss risks/benefits of a saline sonohysterogram or an office hysteroscopy with your Gyn instead. ...Read more

4.5 wks pregnant bleeding & colic for 48 hrs, irregular contour of gest. Sac (size 5cm), no yolk sac, poor residual reaction, cervical polyp. Any hopes?
There is always HOPE: Does not sound good. But, it is best to just be patient and repeat the Ultrasound in a week or 2. Sometimes, Miscarriages are a form of protection. Protection from birth defects etc. This is the body's defense mechanism and also God's will. Good Luck. Will pray for you! ...Read more

Small polyp like lumps on my wifes head what are they doc? When I run my fingers through her hair or massage her scalp it doesn't hurt her there are like ten of them under the skin you can't pop them they don't have a head on them very unusual please hel
Have to be there!: Lumps on the scalp are often sabaceous cysts: they grow from blocked glands that produce oil or sweat. They are problematic when they bother the person -or when they become infected. These can be removed by a doctor. Soft lumps may be lipomas: fatty growths. I would encourage you not to squeeze or otherwise try to remove these on your own, though. Have your wife's doctor evaluate her. Lgromkomd. ...Read more
Hi I am 27&I have a 1.8mm submucosal fibroid/polyp on scan, pelvic ache only when bending over, what will gynae do? Is this linked? No irregular periods
I have had abnormal monthly bleeding for 3+ yrs. I tried birth control pills, had a hysterosonogram which showed polyps and fibroid. I had a dnc and the abnormal bleeding stopped for 3mths, then it came back. Md stumped. Ideas?
Dysmenorrhea: At age 30, the likely causes are the cervical polyp and/or the fibroid. These tend to bleed and heal and bleed again. If the D&C debrided all the tissue, then it is a mystery. Possibly, the procedure left behind some abnormal remnants of the fibroid, and may need to be re debrided. Sometimes, ocs are prescribed for individuals who continue to have abnormal periods. If that doesn't work, D&C again? ...Read more

I'm 29 and have irregular periods just had a dnc, during surgery a polyp was found and I also have displaysia. The doctor has me taking megestrol... Will it be hard to conceive? Is magestrol a good med to take?
Megestrol: I'm assuming you mean endometrial hyperplasia and not cervical dysplasia? Before you consider a pregnancy, you need to continue your treatment for hyperplasia and make sure that issue is resolved. It shouldn't cause any problem with conception once your course of treatment is complete. ...Read more
