Probably normal: I believe you are experiencing the surprise of a woman who has always had regular periods & for the first time something is a little different. The tubal ligation essentially assures that you are not pregnant. Being 4 days late is really in the normal range..these changes may increase as you age. Good rule of thumb: OK to watch/wait for 10-14 days before contacting provider. ...Read more

Glad you have a Doc!: Not sure who allowed you to try for a tubal reversal. These are very unsuccessful and can be dangerous for life threatening ectopic pregnancies. But, you did it. It surely sounds like you are connected to good health care and they are monitoring your cervical cancer risk. What do you want us to have opinion about? ...Read more

28 yrs old, I have 3 kids, had tubal ligation, periods are very irregular, 30+ days in between sometimes 2+ periods in a month. Should i be concerned?

Need a GYN evaluatn: Irregularity of your cycle can occur for many different reasons. It is definitely not normal to have 2+ periods in a month. A normal cycle can be anywhere from 21-35 days long (although most are around 28 days, and are typically consistent). You should see your gyn to get evaluated for a thyroid abnormality and other causes of irregular cycles. ...Read more

Common problem: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections & hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test . There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit. ...Read more

I had a tubal ligation eleven months ago and have had very irregular periods and finally missed one last month! what is going on?

Not ovulating: If your periods are irregular, it can be a sign that you are not ovulating. This is probably not due to your tubal, but possibly due to a hormonal imbalance. See your obgyn and they can help you find out. ...Read more

I had a tubal ligation in Oct of 2013 when I had my 3rd child via c section. Since then my periods have been completely irregular. Help!!!

Not due to tubal : I don't believe your tubal ligation has much to due with your irregular menses at this point, nothing to really be worried about as long as it was done correctly. Your gyenacologist could put you on some hormone therapy to regulate your nenses so that they are more predictable! ...Read more

Are irregular periods normal after a bilateral tubal ligation? I had one 8/13/2012, and my period started back in september. I've missed 2 periods

Maybe: If you just had a baby or just stopped birth control pills around the time of your tubal ligation, it could be normal. Check a pregnancy test just to make sure you are not pregnant. If you continue to skip periods, see the doctor who performed your tubal ligation and get his/her advice. ...Read more
