Abnormal Nail Growth
My 5months old baby has imbalance brain, his growth of the left side is lower, and he don't have grip in his hand, is he abnormal?
Problem-yes: Abnormal? I do not know, but it does sound as if there may be a problem. I assume you have discussed this with your pediatrician. If not, you should.
Try biotin: Biotin promotes hair growth, healthy skin, and strong nails. It is a coenzyme and a b vitamin, also known as vitamin h. Average growth rate of nails is 3mm/month, but several factors play a role as sell including circulation, nerves, diet, enviroment, and medical history. Toenails typically take 12-18 months from its root to the tip. Be patient.
Nail growth: Nail growth rate will be best with best nutrition and good health. Nothing else has been proven to speed growth. Illness and malnutrition will slow them down. It never hurts to take biotin, a vitamin, which some people feel helps support nail growth.See 1 more doctor answer
Can nails have a limited growth I try to grow my nails longer but it doesn't seem to grow more than this, so does it have a limit? Thanks doctors
Not usually: Like hair, nails have fairly constant growth. Factors that might alter nail growth include injury to the nail matrix, nail infection, severe illness or unusually brittle nails. If this of concern to you consult with a dermatologist.
Can excessive nail biting for 30 years cause damage to the nail growth. I seem to have more nail width over lenght. Could nail pattern been altered?
Doubtful: That nail biting would cause an alteration in the nail growth pattern, unless you were getting chronic nail infections from your actions.
My daughter is missing her 2nd and 3rd phalang's nails since birth. When we touch the top of her phalang nail can be sensed but the nail never growth?
Congenital absence: Could be a permanent loss of those nails as a result of some in -utero event such as injury but time will tell.
Possibly.: If you had permanent removal of the border, it shouldn't ever grow back. If you had the non-permanent procedure done, it should grow back normally over the course of the next year. Occasionally, though, the ingrown or infected nail was traumatized enough that it grows back thick, discolored, or not at all.See 1 more doctor answer

Cyst type growth appeared suddenly on top of toe below nail, something was dropped on toe about 5 days ago, will it just go away?
Watch the Toe.: The obvious conclusion is that the cyst type growth is a direct result of the injury. And, it probably is. Possibly some tissue fluid trapped beneath the skin's surface. There other possibilities but 5 days is not enough time for those to occur. Watch and see, if the cyst enlarges, have it examined.
Should I have my big toenail removed? Two months after being damaged, the toenail is still completely black and has no new growth at the base. However, because of the blood underneath the nail, the sides have started to curve down and keep growing into my
Hello.: Hello. This falls under the perview of podiatry. The problem with bathroom surgery is that, if you do not have a good functional understanding of area being worked on, it may not work or you may end up with unforseen complications (such as infections). As the nail grows into one or both sides of the paronychium (nail bed) is likely to become more painful and can become infected. At this point, you are getting recurrence of the ingrowing of the nail (onychocryptosis). You also noted that there is no nail growth from the base. If the nail issue is not addressed appropriately, you could develop a chronic abnormality of the nail (i.e., crooked). One approach is a partial wedge resection, in which the podiatrist cuts back part of the lateral nail plate. Sometimes the nail needs to be removed. I suggest you see a podiatrist for assistance. Take care.See 1 more doctor answer

Does taking the supplement Centrum help with hair growth (on hair only) and with skin and nails health?
General health: It is a good supplement, it would not be specifically for that reason.
My friend takes biotin for hair and nail growth and she has seen results, but is it safe for her to take this supplement regularly?
Yes: Biotin is extremely safe. It is a natural vitamin found in a wide variety of foods such as chard, carrots, almonds, milk, eggs, berries, and onions. Quoting this fine article: http://umm. Edu/health/medical/altmed/supplement/vitamin-h-biotin "biotin has not been associated with side effects, even in high doses, and is considered to be non-toxic.".
