Improved echo: Your improved left ventricular enlargement suggests that there may have been improvement in systemic hypertension or a viral cardiomyopathy, for example. You didn't mention it the ejection fraction was reduced at that time which could have explained the shortness of breath and pulmonary hypertension. Because you're still experiencing dyspnea, maybe a consultation with a pulmonologist is indicated ...Read more

Echo (Definition)

An echocardiogram (also called an echo) is a type of ultrasound test that uses high-pitched sound waves that are sent through a device called a transducer. The device picks up echoes of the sound waves as they bounce off the different parts of your heart. These echoes are turned into moving pictures of your heart that can be seen ...Read more

Ct angio score of 0, three negative stress echo test in 5 years, normal echo, normal event monitor low hdl, dad heart attack at 50. Do I have blockage?

Tests: Given your test results you do not appear likely to have calcified obstructive coronary artery disease at the present time. If you have plaque in your coronaries it doesn't appear to be highly obstructive at the present. We can't say there are no plaques. ...Read more

20 year old male, abnormal EKG but normal echo and stress test. Left arm randomly tingles and has a slight ache to it. Anxiety or heart?

Maybe neither: Might consider possibility of peripheral nerve compression afflicting your arm at wrist or elbow. An EMG test can help rule out this consideration. Am skeptical that anxiety is cause of tingling in one arm. ...Read more

Have had chest tight, sob, right arm aches for a year. Event monitor, exercise stress echo, cxr, chol, endo, all normal. Now jaw aches all day. Scared?

Shortness of breath: Studies show shortness of breath is caused by respiratory, cardiac, mixed cardiac-respiratory, and non CR causes such as vocal chord dysfunction, drugs, or carbon monoxide. If you have had a cardiac workup/stress test you need pulmonary function testing including spirometry, and try a ProAirHFA inhaler and get CBC checked. Past smoker? Pulmonary may consider more imaging, see Pulmonology please ...Read more

Muscle pain or spasm: If the previous test results are normal and rule out blockages in the coronary (heart) arteries, then there are several possibilities. A spasm could affect coronary arteries when a person Is stressed resulting in symptoms. The condition is called Prinzmetal's angina. A muscle spasm can also occur with stress as body tenses up. Dizziness during workout. Normal stress test, echo & holter. Been exercising for 4 years but this started happening for about a year. Possblecauses?

Type of dizziness: It is helpful to know whether the dizziness is lightheadedness or vertigo. You've already had 3 important tests. If it's lightheadedness checking your bloodpressure and pulse during your symptoms to see if they're abnormal would be helpful. If it's vertigo you're experiencing, an exam by an otolaryngologist and/or a neurologist is recommended. ...Read more

I started to feel 1 or 2 skipped beats while exercise. Had 24h holter, Echo and treadmill test 3 years ago. Nothing abnormal. Do I need to test again?

Probably not: Of course it would be best to evaluate your heart again but the previously normal testing (I presume for the same reasons) makes a threatening condition less likely. What I would do is revisit the physician that originally evaluated you and inform him of your symptoms. ...Read more
