Abnormal Echo Three Years Ago Now Echo Is Normal
Had a heart echo 12 months ago which was normal. Just been diagnosed with incomplete rbbb. Do i need another echo is my heart abnormal now. Worried?
An echocardiogram (also called an echo) is a type of ultrasound test that uses high-pitched sound waves that are sent through a device called a transducer. The device picks up echoes of the sound waves as they bounce off the different parts of your heart. These echoes are turned into moving pictures of your heart that can be seen ...Read more
20 year old, healthy, rhr of 50-65, was diagnosed this week with left ventricular high voltage (ecg). Last year ECG was normal. is it normal?
Can be normal....: For you young age, voltage criteria are different and therefore it most likely is an incorrect reading if the conventional criteria for older individuals is being applied. Speak with MD who did your ECG for his explanation and difference from 1 year ago. Second why is a young person getting annual ECGs to begin with? Do u have heart problems etc etc. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Chest pain and vomiting since yesterday. Ekg, d dimer and CBC done last week camme back normal. Had normal echo a year ago. Scared its heart attack?
Any risk factors?: Usually when I see a 27 y.o. with chest pain it is NOT a heart attack. It's not impossible, just not the top of the list! If you have chest pain with difficulty breathing/tight that is worse with exertion and better with rest then go to ER. If you abuse drugs/nicotine, have a parent or sibling that has had a heart attack ...Read more

Echo done a year ago came back normal. 2 ekgs, cbc, d dimer and lipase last week and all normal. Headache, fast heart and vomiting. Is this my heart?
Should i be worried about sca?! normal ekgs(shows normal heartbeat, just fast) normal echo showed normal function normal stress test/normal blood work
Probably not: The risk of sca is very low in the young, healthy population. Unless you have a family history of sca or a genetic predisposition to sudden death, your risk should also be low. There is a risk calculator that can be applied to assess sca risk in patients undergoing surgery. It was developed by dr. Gupta and can be accessed at www.Qxmd.Com. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I had a echo and it was normal. My calcium screening showed that I have a mildly enlarged aorta. Two years ago it was normal. Should i be concerned?
Husbands biopsy three months ago showed fibrosis bridging cirrhosis from alcohol.abdominal ultrasound came back normal last week.why normal ultrasound?
Nature of ultrasound: This is kind of subtle, and I'll try to explain as I'm a pathologist. Especially if your husband's disease is due to alcohol, all the little units of the liver are affected about the same, so ultrasound -- which lights up borders between areas of different consistency -- won't show a thing. This is actually good news. If I recall, he's sober now and I hope he recovers well. ...Read more
My preteen son kept having echoes coming back positive for pulmonary htn. He was cleared after an echo came back normal. Now it shows rvh?
More testing: Right ventricular hypertrophy may indicate that the right side of the heart pumping against a resistance due to elevated pressure. If he has symptoms related to lung disease a ct scan of the thorax may be performed. In addition, a right heart catheterization at a pediatric cardiology center will provide more definitive information about the possible diagnosis of pulmonary htn. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I had a heart cath one year ago that was normal. How long are cath results good for? Years? Months? Thanks
Depends: The risk factors such as smoking, cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes, rare stuff and family history. For heart attacks one usually needs two risk factors not only one. With bp, chol, diabetes it depends if they are controlled or uncontrolled. The cath is usually good until new symptoms arrive. Always check with your doc. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
